Lemons, the best detoxifier ever on the planet!

All I have to say is WOW! Lemons are awesome! Very detoxifying! I have been juicing lemons with my citrus juicer every morning upon waking for the past week, and that was my missing link. Ever since I've started three months ago on raw, and now for a month now 100%, I've had a coated tounge. Ever since I've started the lemons, my coated tounge is gone now. At first, my mouth did NOT like lemons. My toungue burned and developed little sores, but after a week, no more sores! WOW. I am soooo impressed by lemons, that I had to do say a little something about it! Better than any detoxing program I've been through yet, besides fasting. smiling smiley
Thanks for listening. Any imput on lemons?

I add lemon or limes in my smoothies but do not juice them. In smoothies I remove only the green or yellow outer layer, do not want to loose the phytochemicals in the fiber and the seeds. You are right they are good but even better in smoothies. Try them in smoothies and your will get even better results

I DON'T do smoothies, I DO monos, which is better on my palate. PLUS, lemons are the only fruit I juice, plus I put the pulp back in. smiling smiley Smoothies MAY work for you, but they don't work for me. Thanks for the input, though.

Lemons are my cup of Jo in the morning. Lol

Thanks for the input everyone.

How many lemons, and do you (or anyone reading this) use the peel?

Lemons (according to the chart way down at the bottom of theis link) are the most alkalizing food!

I highly recommend brushing your teeth right after lemon juice/lemons, or at least rinsing your mouth out with water a few times.

Cheers.

This is a VERY BAD idea as the acid in citrus dissolves the tooth enamel!!

This is what my dentist actually recommended!! As after you wash away the acid, the tooth enamel will be stronger and if you brush, the tooth enamel won't be "brushed off" as easily.

I LOVE lemons and I'm altogether addicted to lemonade. I am noticing that my teeth are feeling more sensitive though so I do make an effort to swish with warm salt and baking soda water at least twice a day.

I've never tried them in a smoothie. Thanks for the tip djatchi. What do you find them good blended with?

I hope that they really are the best detoxifiers on the planet because I just left a family gathering and ate way wrong and I'm craving a lemonade.

I'm glad other people like lemons, too! Thanks for the input. Brushing the teeth and swishing water is very WISE!

I my smoothies I mix them with apples or pears. I do not like things too sweet so I stay away from bananas. Sometimes I use oranges or grapefruit the same way, everything except the outer layer goes in the high speed blender.

Swishing the water until the acid is gone is wise. Brushing you teeth when there is no acid in your mouth is the safest way to do it.

I think you might want to keep an eye on your teeth. Check that you tooth enamel is not dissolving. My dentist said that the best way to drink acidic drinks is through a straw so that the drink (acid) does not touch your teeth.

Good idea. I usually drink the lemon juice through a straw.
