Herbs have thousands upon thousands of years use when it comes to healing many which have solid research behind them.

Agree on the stimulants, probably alongside alcohol and tobacco the 3 things that will really mess with your health bigtime.

I would add pharmaceuticals as a potential fourth.

I meant to add stress to that equation too. I guess there is alot of variables poor diet is up there also, although i know many happy go larry people who for all there life are healthy on a very bad SAD diet of processed food, drink and smoke heavily but are happy and positive.

Poor mental outlook and stress have to be up there with the best i reckon. It was primarily prolonged stress that crashed my adrenal glands.

"I would add pharmaceuticals as a potential fourth."

Oh, pharmaceuticals are the worst of all!
"Anti-depressants" and the like- that's essentially mind control.

me and coffee
we do not get along at all

tried it only once
it was a disaster completely

never touched it again

it felt like a legion of elephants had run over me
then threw me into the ground
and started bellowing loud noises at my nervous system

until i put my hand over my head ( while in the caffeine ditch)
and said " Stop .. stop!! please stop it!!!"

well, the solution was simple
don't drink coffee

have stuck to that ever since

will never forget it

that coffee thing
maaaaaan! strong stuff indeed

Depends if its actually caused any real damage, if your adrenal glands are fatigued and your burned out there are numerous adaptogenic herbs, foods rich in vitamin C and B5 will go towards helping restore proper adrenal gland function.

If you have burned out various neurotransmitters there are various supplements such as TMG which can be used to aid in neurotransmitter synthesis.

I used bee pollen which is the richest plant source of vitamin b5 and was a large help in recovering my adrenal glands.

Whether its classed as vegan or not is up for debate and i no longer need it now. But yeah it was a major help.

I've read that bee pollen can irritate the lining of the gut. I stopped taking it after reading this... any thoughts? I'm 100% focused on healing leaky gut but I also have adrenal problems which I've read pollen can help with. So it gets confusing.

Work on building up your gut flora with fermented foods and prebiotics aswell as herbs such as licorice root and yucca root are good choices for leaky gut.

Bee pollen ive never read much that it can irritate the lining.

Prolonged stress also led to my adrenal problems. It can be a vicious cycle because we often self medicate, usually with caffiene and alcohol to get through the stress, and on and on it goes from there. Having a positive mental outlook a huge piece of the puzzle. It's just as hard to get going in the morning when were down as it is before coffee!

The problem with coffee is it's acidity. When I eat something I shouldn't have, I make sure I juice more. It makes things move along quicker. I find I don't necessarily crave coffee but the sugary creamer. So I make sure I get honey in my tea or lime water to satisfy my sweet toothsmiling smiley
