Date: October 08, 2006 07:55PM Try warming up some water to about 105 degrees, then slip some dried seaweed (I like wakame) and whatever else seems good (I like slivered shiitake mushrooms, shredded beets and carrots, ground flax or sesame seeds, some mushed avocado, lemon, lime, and/or ginger juice, dulse flakes, etc.) and enjoy a lovely soup.
Also, cayenne powder mixed into your food or into a beverage really gets your circulation going. Re: Winter foods

Seriously, I hear that ginger is good for the circulation so if you have cold hands from poor circulation, ginger is supposed to cure it. Re: Winter foods

Date: October 08, 2006 10:33PM I second the cayenne suggestion. Just a little pinch will do wonders to warm you up.

Date: October 09, 2006 01:06AM saunas are a good thing too - heat food! especially wood ones.
my winter food additions include dehydrated burgers, sprouts and crackers. oranges wouldn't be good for me personally here in Canada, but apples work. what one can do, all can do... Jade Re: Winter foods

Date: October 09, 2006 04:33AM You can make a blended raw soup and heat it up on the stove so that it's still comfortable to the touch of your finger. Normally we boil soup and let it cool down to eat.. with raw you can just warm it up to eat! Also you can warm stuff up in a dehydrator.
When it's cold I try to avoid eating stuff right out of the fridge but rather eat stuff at room temperature. Eating refrigerated or frozen stuff can really cool us down. Love, Uma Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
