Joe,
Yes, and I'd read the book and check out threads recommending other books, to get a better idea of this lifestyle. Good luck smiling smiley

I don't understand what you're saying. All I'm saying is that if you google 80/10/10 you'll get a wealth of info that far exceeds anything that you'll get here. Google will take you directly to the source of 80/10/10. Eliminate forums? Why? I love forums.

Google will lead to you way too many links, better to ask on an actual raw food forum where real people who are pursuing the same lifestyle you're interested in might respond, no?

If you google 80/10/10, among the top 3 links will be one to the book at amazon and one to Graham's web-site. You don't need to go any further. I assume that people are independent, intelligent thinkers. When that's the case they usually prefer to hear it from the source. I also figure that I can direct a new raw foodist toward other forums by making a suggestion like that. And who knows? Maybe they'll buy the book and throw some financial support into raw publishing.

To me the most important part of being a teacher is to help people achieve independence and eventually become teachers themselves. Yes, asking for help is good, but if they're really serious about this lifestyle they need to learn how to gather info on their own. I needed to learn it myself and continue to do so. To me 80/10/10 is also a lot more than dietary percentages. It's become a culture unto itself. I can't objectively explain that and I have no desire to impose my opinion on someone before they've had a chance to form an opinion on their own.

Look at it this way, if someone asks me what kind of painter Picasso was, is it wrong of me to point them toward google images and let them decide for themselves instead of saying, "Oh, he was fantastic! Love the blue period and blahblahblah..." Let Picasso tell them what kind of painter Picasso was and then we can talk.

With that being said, I have no problem with people trying to explain it themselves. I just have a different approach.

HH if you don't have anything to contribute to a thread but snark and condescension why bother? I mean, really, just go and enjoy your holiday already.

I took all that time to write what I thought was a thoughtful response to a misunderstanding between us, and all you have for me is that? Sheesh!
