Date: October 14, 2006 10:00PM Tonight I am having 2 pounds of the sweetest, grapiest dark purple grapes I've ever had. They are amazing and I can hardly wait.
They are already washed and in a beautiful bowl waiting for me. : ) Thought this might give you an idea for something simple and quick. Fruit is the ultimate fast food. Love, Julie Re: I need a raw food menu for a quick, great dinner

Date: October 15, 2006 12:32AM Here are some of my super quick dishes I like to make.
(Main course or starter) Tomato Basil salad: - A few tomatoes (airlooms work best I think) - a bunch of basil - nama shoyu (or just salt, or whatever salty thing you like or nothing) - hemp oil (or olive oil) - pepper Slice up tomatoes, pluck the basil (tear up the large leaves, but not too small), toss with nama shoyu, hemp oil and pepper. I don't really measure anything, just add a little until I get the flavor right. The juice the will form in the bottom can be used in soups (or just drank), I think it tastes a little like ox-tale (or is that ox-dale) soup. (Desert) Yummy fruit stuff: - fruit (a pint of berries works well) - almond butter - agrave nector - handful (or 2) of almonds or nuts (option) Place fruit in a bowl (and nuts if a cruch is desired), add a little agrave (tea spoon or to taste), add a table spoon of almond butter (or too taste), mix it all together. Yummy fruity stuff. I normally make this with what ever fruit I have lying around (I made it with pears last night, bananas the night before). Cheers, Ian. Date: October 16, 2006 12:59AM mmmmm- tomatoes and basil- got some fresh end of the seaon from a friend's garden. had to dry most of the basil.
i like savory for dinner- avocado cut chunky tomatoes to taste-diced fine helps make a sauce, chunky adds them to the salad (i could live off of them, so i eat them in more abundance than any other fruit) cucumber cut chunky pepper chopped fine (i personally don't like bell, i'm a spice-lover, oh i miss my santa fe green chilis, so serrano i like, or thai, or fresh cayenne. there are a lot of milder peppers out there) dulce oil if you like mix and enjoy. for dessert- non-pareil almond stuffed medjool dates. there is no cooked dessert that tastes as amazing as caramel-honey medjool dates. do marcona almonds come raw? i have a weakness for those, but have avoided them for a while since i can't find them raw. i wonder if they're as irresistable that way... I was thinking of bringing fruit salad to our next family potluck. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
