Date: October 15, 2006 12:07AM The bioavailability of raw protein is much higher than cooked protein. This is because cooked protein is denatured and the human body is not able to break down cooked protein into its component amino acids as well as it can with raw protein.
The amount of protein our bodies lose each day is very low, some say as low as 5 grams a day - from losing hair, skin, finernails, semen loss, blood loss. For the most part, the human body recycles its own dying cells for their amino acids to create new cells. In general, if you are eating raw foods, and you are getting enough calories to do your life and your work each day, you are getting more than enough protein.
