Agreed, im fine with dried fruit also and consume at least a portion a day. Usually raisins, goji berries, incan berries etc.

I try to avoid dried fruit .. too much high concentration of sweet for me and makes me start craving more sweets. I'll usually next grab chocolate. Fresh fruits are just better for me to eat for that reason.

A major point is that dried food has no water. If I have to choose between raisins and grapes, I would take the grapes every time.

Well I usually hydrate my dried fruit (except raisins) and add to fresh fruit for my evening meal, though I generally eat a couple of handfuls of nuts prior to the fruit. That's what I thought might be causing the gas, nuts (fat) and then fruit, but it appears not.

I asked on last page if anyone had heard about not mixing certain colours of food. I'm not sure if it was from an eastern religious source or a health source. It was back in the early seventies when I heard that.

A very basic question (sorry!) - Geo, ARE YOU HUNGRY every time you eat? this simple thing is often overlooked - it's so beneficial for the digestion to allow yourself to build up an appetite (increase the digestive fire) before eating. Eating when not truly hungry (which tends to happen more with 'tasty' complicated combo's of food - which could lead to the connection to bad combo's / poor digestion) means the body is having to leave off digesting the last meal and start on the new one - not a great situation.

Hmm interesting question Lisa M, and sorry for I've been away. To answer it, I'd say, 'not really'. Like, I know I'm hungry, or that I need to eat, but I don't often get those hunger pangs, especially in the evening. It's something that I might look closer at, thx.
