Love it, minus the taste. Big fan of nutritional yeast also but it doesn't have chromium that brewers yeast does.

Very good concentrated source of B complex vitamins which makes it great for energy, supporting the adrenal glands and nervous system plus much more. The only problem is if you are allergic to yeast you should avoid.

The yeast is inactive so will not continue to ferment like some candida sites mention.

I heard that we should not consume brewer's yeast, as it's a by-product of brewing. I get nutritional yeast and I wasn't aware that it did not contain chromium. Have to check that one out.

I think nutritional yeast tastes good... and that brewer's yeast always tasted kind of bitter and disgusting.

But I had no idea it contained chromium! :O

Nutritional yeast tastes nice, almost kind of cheesy/nutty flavour.

But even debittered brewers yeast is horrific in taste, but yeah it is very rich in a active form of chromium known as glucose tolerance factor(GTF).

thanks for the info, I might pick some up. Does it contain any amino acids?

Can you eat it raw? how do you incorporate it into foods?

Yeah Brewers Yeast is a very good source of protein/amino acids by weight.

I just take a tablespoon in a little water, easier to get over.

I think the problem with horrible tasting powders is people put alot of water in with them to dilute it. This is the worst idea in my opinion as you have to drink several gulps worth and thus taste it more.

I prefer an ounce or two of water tops depending on how dense the powder is and it goes over in one gulp. Basically enough liquid for you to be able to take in one gulp, enough to lubricate the powder.

I have tasted alot of horrible supplements, the worst was ahh damn i can't remember the name or what it was meant to do. But you had to take every 3 hours or something, i remember getting up in the middle of the night to take doses and it tasted like battery acid lol. Cell something, popular anti-cancer cure.

powerlifer,

Protocel. My mom was on it, but never complained about the taste. Considering what chemo tastes like once it gets into your mucus membranes, Protocel might be like fine wine, by comparison.

Why were you taking Protocel, if you don't mind my asking? Besides cancer it's recommended for severe pathogenic infections, so maybe it was something like that?

YES Protocel thats it Tamukha woo that was bugging me lol.

I found it very like what i imagine motor oil to taste like, i have tasted stronger bitter and other tastes which most hate but this really didn't appeal to me, especially with nausea early in the morning at that time.

I was trying it for what i thought may be an intestinal pathogen of some sort and didn't find it of any use for that anyway. I like trying most supplements if safe just for the sake of testing them so i know i can vouch for whatever im speaking about.

Did your mom get good results out of interest Tamukha?

There will be a day when we will just swallow a pill and not have to eat.
No need to grow anything,no dishes to wash.
I have a dream ...

I really wish that to be the case, i can't really say i enjoy the act of eating food most of the time. I view it as fuel.

I can't see it being the case though unless we can emulate nature in some way and reduce the particle size of food or something lol. Your post has got me thinking now lol. Nano foods(tm).

powerlifer,

Unfortunately, my mother went back to another course of chemo after a few months on Protocel, as it was unclear from her CT scans whether it was working. It was a complication from that last phase of chemotherapy that caused her death. Thus, I will always wonder whether my mother's last scans showed improvement on Protocel, but because her otherwise open-minded oncologist didn't understand what he was seeing, the Protocel was discontinued before it could help her . . .
