Ive often paid alot of money for RAW nuts over normal organic nuts and so far i cant tell the difference to be honest, despite the price tag.

Ive ate kilos upon kilos of raw hemp seeds, normal hemp seeds, normal brazil nuts, organic raw super duper brazil nuts and ill say for the majority there was little difference.

I always go organic if i can afford or a trusted brand.

PL, just to be sure we're on the same page (and I think you must know this, but your comment didn't seem like you did), please do not confuse the terms 'raw' and 'organic.' I would imagine that there are plenty of nuts labeled 'organic' on shelves that are also heat-treated. My nuts are not organic but are supposedly raw.

Yes, I have thought about getting the in-shell variety because the walnuts are out of this world! Sometimes shelled walnuts seem bitter (I know there are different varieties, too) and I also find that they can seem stale. Of course, this is the issue with all shelled nuts. I also love filberts and pecans and they are way cheaper buying them in the shell. You really don't need a schmancy cracker, either. How about this one? winking smiley [www.amazon.com]
