Can any one please post a good recipe for making Tooth Paste

3 tbsp quality clay (Sacred Clay is what I use)
3 tbsp baking soda 6 tbsp xylitol (optional… do the research and see if xylitol is for you)
6 tbsp virgin raw coconut oil
your favorite essential oil to taste/flavor your paste (spearmint is a good one) -

I don't use toothpaste on my toothbrushes - I just wet them. I also do coconut oil pulling and floss everyday. Most importantly, though, IMO, is I use a water pick.

* Don't forget tongue brushing.

Thanks La_v, Suez. Baking soda is a must for making tooth paste right?
Suez, do you do tongue brushing twice a day, I was in opinion that raw foodist need not do tongue brushing?

Ramanan, I just do it once a day with the tool which comes with the water pick. The tongue, just like the rest of the digestive system, is multifunctional so also detoxes. I'd rather spit that stuff out than let it recycle or worse.

Here is what I use...

Your welcome. I wet toothbrushes with tap water from my bathroom sink faucet. When I'm off grid I'd use potable stored or sufficiently boiled and filtered water.

I don't make toothpaste but for a clean mouth what I like to brush my teeth with is Dr. Bronner's liquid castile peppermint soap.

Yum!

Ramanan, I do this twice a day - when I wake up and when I go to bed and other times too if I think I need to, but then, it is mostly because I have lots of leaves stuck to my teeth and I look like I'm growing Palm trees in my mouth. Raw food doesn't really leave my mouth feeling yukky but it just looks over-populated with green stuff.
