Are any fruits, veggies, nuts, or seeds unsafe to eat raw?

Thanks!
Renee

Also:

Huge amounts of raw mushrooms.

Bracken fern, in any quantity.

Huge amounts of apple seeds, peach pits.

Many/most raw legumes.

Basically your taste will be your guide. If it's really toxic, you won't want to eat it.

Many wild mushrooms are toxic.

Raw soybeans are inedible and toxic.

Don't eat poison oak/ivy!

As food, yes: poison oak/ivy are not food.

However, they can be eaten in small quantities as MEDICINE. When this is done, it can reduce a person's sensitivity to skin contact with poison oak/ivy. This is discussed in the books by Euell Gibbons.

Let us note that one of the false pseudo-religious beliefs of fundamentalist natural hygiene is that there is no such thing as medicine; it does not exist. Such beliefs simply highlight how unrealistic, unnatural, and just plain stupid, natural hygiene is.

What exactly is "natural hygiene" anyways? I have heard it being mentioned a few times on here, but I am not exactly sure what it is.....

To some, Natural Hygiene is the DEVIL...
To me, it was a sort of gateway to raw foodism.

I understand it as cleaning one's inside and outside, uh, naturally... eating efficiently, cleaning without chemicals, getting sun, etc...

NH recommends
* plenty of sleep
* plenty of rest
* plenty of sunshine
* simple foods
* following the nature
Sounds awfully unrealistic and stupid, doesn't it? smiling smiley

I think cooking potato's would taste terrible.
Also collards might upset your stomache if you eat them like a wrap.

Trinity, I use a dressing or filling with plenty of ginger in it when I use collard leaves for wraps. Maybe that would be helpful to you.
