What was the last cooked food item you consumed? And do you remember when it was? How it made you feel?

Last night. Oven-baked "French fries". With a little olive oil & salt. Felt just fine, though felt a little guilty not sharing them with my dog, Jockey. And Yes to catsup.

Lotus root, brocolli, sea tangle, wood ear, green beans, brown rice. I had it today. I felt fine. I was rushing around town with lots of errands and stopped at a veggie restaurant. BUT! I picked up a fresh jackfruit, nice citrus and durian and plan on making some healthy raw green drinks now with a little fruit later. I try to mix durian with something bitter like black sesame, because it's too sweet otherwise.
This reminds me: At Au LAc, a vietnamese veggie restaurant in California, they have a side raw vegan menu and a raw chef (Ito). Everything he serves is raw vegan, except for a side of steamed cauliflower and brocolli. He has taken a vow of silence, so it's hard to talk to him...writing back and forth on paper. He doesn't accept standard ideas that the veggies are killed when steamed. IT's pretty funny! Hey, it's easy to be "all raw" when you can have steamed veggies. I once sat there eating the steamed veggies with the chef's all raw cultured wild rice with two "all raw" friends. Hilarious.

The last cooked food I ate was on May 24th, 2012. I don't remember what it was or how it made me feel.

I've been 100% raw in the past and then slowly returned to cooked food and I can't say eating some cooked food made me feel any different, per se. In fact, what I did notice is that my quality of health did not just promptly plummet, but instead, slowly declined over several years until I knew I had once again managed to have "ordinary" health with a general decline in vitality.

By the way Tai, I ate at Au Lac when I was in southern California last summer - a great place and I could take my wife there - she's not 100% raw but she was totally satisfied with the cuisine. The place was a delight.

Oatmeal (just plain cooking oats, not the packages stuff with sugar and additives) a couple weeks ago. My husband won't eat it, so I saw no need to waste it. It's not like I was eating McDonalds or something. I don't really feel "bad" or anything. It's been a bit odd acclimating to sprouted oats or just fruit for breakfast instead but I just mix in some fruit and have some juice and it's fine.

That's funny. I would like to hear his logic. Cultured wild rice, sounds yummy.

I was thinking of experimenting with sweet potatoes cooked. I seem to struggle with lifting weights all raw without tons of fruit for carbs source. Maybe I'll try raw pseudo grains first, because otherwise without the working out I feel outstanding all raw.

Tai, not that it's going to matter much to most non-raw eaters but if the "cultured wild rice" was brown or dark it was already cooked.

I'm sure you know that but for others who want to eat all raw food it may be important to know that almost all wild rice has been cooked (parched). This is done before it is winnowed and the husks are removed. It will not sprout. Uncooked wild rice is light straw colored.

Frozen green peas. Last summer. I felt bloated and I decided to end this love & hate relationship once and for all.

Steamd broccoli and brussel sprouts. That was 18 days ago, now that I think of it!

Keep up the good work! If you can go 18 days without cooked food you can go without it forever with determination and good planning.

Thank you, SueZ!

It's been rather effortless, actually. I am very satisfied with the changes I have made, so much that I haven't even been keeping track of the days. I only got the number from flipping through my food journal!

I do like the idea of a little flexibility in social situations, but aspire to fine-tune a sustainable raw diet I can enjoy in everyday life. I find that a little wiggle-room may be best for my emotional health.

But we'll see. I'm just going to let things come naturally.

Beautiful, dark red kidney beans. About 1/3 cup. In my salad. They were great. The raw vegan police are breaking the door down as I write this.

Whole wheat spaghetti with sauce and grated cheese. I didn't like it. I prefer white pasta
