Breaking: Woodstock Fruit Festival is kaput
Posted by: banana who ()

After this year, I should add. Saw the video last night:

I find this a bit strange, to be honest. I am wondering more and more if this is just a gimmick to gin up sales. Why? David Arnstein (I think that is the man talking?) said that due to some legal/liability issues being too high coupled with some other factor (probably lower attendance but I can't recall), they would not be continuing with this but he held out the possibility that someone might come in and take it over if they wanted to incur the extra expense/responsibility.

If the liability is too high, why even have it this year? If you can do it this year, you could do it for ten years in the future. So this might just be a ploy but I am not sure...

That is all...smiling smiley If anyone has attended prior Woodstock Fests, I would love to hear your impressions on it. I remarked in the past that it seems geared towards 20-somethings mostly. There may be a few people outside that range but I wondered if it would be a good fit for someone older. I am not a huge fan of structured activities because then it seems too childish and like camp. I would rather interact with others in a natural way. But it looks like a beautiful setting and a great place to jumpstart a 100% raw or high-raw lifestyle! grinning smiley

Some people got really sick there last year. Hygiene problems with food handling (especially with raw foods) can bankrupt people. Raw food handling is not a job for untrained and careless people. He's very lucky to have come to his senses.

- do you have a reference where these problems are described?
- do you have evidence that the sickness was due to hygiene?

Didn't Dan MacDonald come down with some crazy infection right after the fruit festival last year?

Yes, the festival is going to be replaced by the Raw Foodies Award night, in line with the Tonys, the Emmys and the Oscars. There will be a whole range of awards including,

best newcomer of the year,

most creative raw food dish award, and

a special Hall of Fame award to Doug Graham presented by DurianRider

How does fruit become infected? Humans not using proper hygiene? I find that hard to believe. I never heard anyone complain about that.

My suspicion is that this is the Freelee Effect. She (and DR) might have been major draws and their absence last year seemed to have caused attendance to dwindle. I also think that the price was pretty outrageous, even for all-you-can eat fruit. Staying in a cabin with meals costs almost $1300 and even if you use a tent it's almost $1200. For the week sleeping in a tent, that is about $171 a day! How much would it cost you to gorge on fruits (even exotic ones) for one day plus camp out?

Here's the really strange thing: they're in the hole. The money they have received for 2015 has almost approached the amount they need to break in from last year:

Don't the Arnsteins live in Hawaii now? What's the point of everyone going to upstate NY to eat fruit? I'd rather go to Hawaii or thailand if I'm spending on a trip.

just because dan said it was a bacteria infection doesn't make it true.

possibly bad combinations, overeating, some amount of "gourmet" raw
at the festival
will cause digestive problems that are blamed on "bacteria"

I didn't think raw foodists believed in germs or viruses, so how could they get sick eating fruit? They believe they can go to Africa and not be bitten by mosquitos, or if they are, it having negligible effects on them. Raw foodists don't believe in the Aids virus and aren't afraid of Ebola so how could eating some so called unhygenicaly prepared food cause so much trouble? CSI Fresh, here is a case for you to investigate and report back on.

Was it really the food, or was something missing at the event without Harley and his Princess? Is Michael Arnstein telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, or has he been sneaking in some late night tacos and joined Harley's raw till 4 and doesn't want to live a lie any more?

Michael is so beautiful. I love watching him. He is so smart and wise. I love this video, it is professional. I love this video.

I am sad what they say, the movement is really been divided, and I hope the next gurus who step up to lead everyone to beautiful health come soon. I hope they create unity and bring others together.

Anne Sounds amazing, I love her.

Be wary where you spend your money and support good people in the movement, not bad.

Imiss being one with all raw vegans around the world. Fruitarians too.

When you are around all 100% raw vegans, youfeel the energy and everyone is alive looking and happy. You see wellness and beauty.

When I was Googling the Website, I found out that there will be a Woodstock Fruit Fest in HI! So Megan Elizabeth must have extended it to the South Pacific because she was associated with the original one.

That's just the retarded tinfoil wing of raw foodists that believe in that woo woo. They spout off hare brained nonsense like this ...

You would have to eat and rub coconut oil all over you to fight the fungus, yes, in tropical countries. BUt that is no big deal.

How did you find out what every raw foodist thinks? Perplexing! I wasn't asked or given a poll.

I've given plenty of evidence. Here, for the last time, is yet another poor raw food handling hygiene video of the many many available on YouTube. If you have trouble with the concept read the comments under the video as there are several examples pointed out of very poor food handling hygiene for those too lazy too pay attention or too ignorant to understand what is clearly visible before their own eyes.

I watched 3 minutes of that video and found the food-handling to be pretty gross. I think that I'll stick to my own kitchen.

BJ the raw foodie awards lol so funny, you have my sense of humor.

Food handling, I am watching Dans video you posted, I worked in raw vegan kitchens so I know when food is handled poorly let me check it out..

To me, it looks like a bunch of people who are NOT TRAINED in kitchens!
( after all--- they are RAW!) and they are not washing hands, not cleaning up, etc but its no biggie. At least there are no dogs int he kitchen. Raw people are not sterile people and a little dirt is fine.

They are just fruit raw fans....not chefs or cooks.

If I were there I would have so much fun and I would talk to everyone at least for ten minutes each.
