Raw coconut flour

Date: September 21, 2015 11:20AM Hiya, bought a bag of this today.
Does anyone ... know how long it lasts once it's open? ... if there is a strong coconut flavour (or any flavour)? ... if it's sweet at all? I have some ideas on how to use it (would like to use it as 'bulk' in a raw cake instead of coconut oil) but worried once I open the bag it might have a short shelf life as it's raw. ![]() Re: Raw coconut flour

why don't you put it in the fridge in some airtight receptacle It will retard that oxidation. Re: Raw coconut flour

Date: October 05, 2015 12:53PM Hiya suez,
Even though it's billed as 100% raw? It's still devoid of the good stuff? That's a shame. I'll just use it to pad out raw cookies or something, It says this on the website (http://www.tiana-coconut.com/products/coconut-superfoods/gluten-free-coconut-flour/) Extra fine, Premium quality 100% raw and suitable for raw diets 100% pure, free from sulphates Highly nutritious, contains vitamins and minerals Low G.I (Glycemic Index) food High in dietary fibre (38.5% per 100%) Low in carbohydrates (21% per 100g) Good source of protein (17% per 100g) It doesn't actually state what the vitamins and minerals are. I don't know if I've overdone the coconut this past year but I found the taste a bit intrusive :/ The flour also made me feel a bit dehydrated too. I'm not sure I'd buy again, and if I did, I'd use it in smaller amounts ![]() Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
