HALLOWEEN

I don't know what you all are going to do or consume today for Halloween. Maybe go to a raw vegan party/potluck?

I hope your treats have lots of carotenoids and xanthophylls and anthocyanin....
those are good Halloween colors anyhow.

Btw, is halloween a religion or something...or is it just a celebration day to honor those who have passed.

I never studied or looked up all the things that revolve around holidays...not much of a holiday person anyhow. But.. I would be interested to know what everyone's take is on what this day is about.

Does it have any special meaning for you? It did for me when I was a kid... I was STRICTLY in it for the candy... it was totally "business"... the business of candy consumption.spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

And noooooo... I don't want to "google" the history of Halloween. Noooooooo.....please don't make me!!

NooOOOOOOOOOO!!!!......(sounds of ghouls in the distance)...

Have a ghastly good day folks. winking smiley

NOOOoooOOOOOOOOOooooooooo....BWAHA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!

It has it's history in paganism and also is a historical day for blood sacrificing. I refuse to recognise the day at all for reasons l shall not go into here.

I think a bunch of kids knocked on my door last night for trick or treat. I couldn't answer the door because l was meditating. If l had been available l would have given all the kids a treat. What treat? I would have given them a list of references to look up on the internet to make sure they knew what halloween really was (the history) so they were fully aware of what they were supporting.

Next year l will have many lists of references ready, and l will be waiting. That will be their treat, an education.

The driveway is too long for kids to bother walking up it for handouts - so I'm lucky I won't have to sit by the door waiting for visitors all evening.

I do think there is something to the pagan belief that this is the time of year the veil between this world and another's are the thinnest as I often have dreams of dead family members visiting from elsewhere around this time.

For me the really foreboding aspect of it all is having to turn the clocks, etc., off an hour tonight and having to get up when it's still dark for the rest of the year.

Don't forget to put your car in the garage or you might get egg bomb tricks in exchange for no treats.

Yes, I have heard (and it makes perfect sense to me) that it is potentially damaging to the health to have the time change, as it disrupts the circadian rhythms. I try to change my timings gradually over the course of a few weeks, just ease myself into it so to speak.

Lisa

Did you give out golden raw pumpkin flaxseed crackers ( in little pouches) for trick or treating? Or.. maybe even slices of raw pumpkin pie?

hahaha LaV, no children AT ALL came to my door all night!! My next door neighbours were inundated, they gave out 50 bags of sweets in total! The kids must have heard the news that I'm raw, lol.
