Constipation
Date: November 13, 2015 08:10PM

One of my reasons for becoming fully raw is IBS-c, but if anything it's got worse especially lately. I have been eating less fat, so I've reduced my intake of chia and flax seeds. Would adding those back in help? I haven't lost weight either, so I don't want to eat a lot of fat. I eat mostly raw veggies, salads, greens, and fruit and bananas. I really need your suggestions. Sometimes even laxitives don't work.

One of the main things is not to worry about it because emotional stress hinders your digestion.

-Probiotics (kim chi, sauerkraut, high-quality supplements)
-Aloe vera (http://www.globalhealingcenter.com/aloe-vera-juice.html#ingredients)
-Digestive enzymes
-Marshmallow root
-Slippery elm bark
-Betaine hydrochloride (HCL) - You could have low levels of stomach acid - "Quantum Nutrition HCL"
-Ginger
-Apple cider vinegar (1-2 TBS) in the morning w/ purified water
-Squatting while using the restroom instead of the traditional way
-Sufficient hydration and magnesium

"FloraTrex" and "LifeGive Instinct" are high-quality probiotic brands.

Also, fat doesn't make you fat so it's okay to continue eating chia seeds, but you should at least soak them before eating. Stop eating raw, unsoaked nuts and seeds as they are rich in anti-nutrients and enzyme inhibitors which will have a very negative effect on your digestion.

If you're trying to lose weight, you may want to look into Siberian ginseng (Eleuthero) and cissus quadrangularis. If you feel like you just can't shed off any weight regardless of what you're doing, you could have hypothyroidism, hormonal imbalances, or a sluggish liver.

Before taking any of the dozen items that jtprindl has suggested from his apothecary, you may want to consider the two major factors.

time
proper diet

you said "I eat mostly.."

It's the things not included in the mostly that may cause a problem, but we don't know what they are since you didn't say what they are.
