Growing veggies & fruit on my balcony.

I live in a townhome in sunny California, have no yard, just a balcony. Would it be easy to grow a small fruit tree and veggies on my balcony? Anyone here try it and how'd it go?

Yes. This is no problem...in Florida...which is similar. Water your contains well (at least one good watering per day during warm weather). Keep them pruned and getting as much sun and wind-protection as you can give them. Stake or buttress the plant with wood slats to support it until it grows strong. Fertilize very lightly once per month. Grow veggies during the cold season (radishes work very well - providing both young greens & the radishes themselves......and Swiss Chard is excellent).

-Just some suggestions.
