Aldi Is On Fire!

Last week after I found out Aldi was expanding their organic foods and cutting back on the toxins in boxed foods I immediately googled to see if I could invest in their company only to find out they are privately owned so there is no stock available to the public.

So now Aldi is showing that they are going to be even hotter - they are accepting credit cards at all of their stores. Yep it's probably hard for those who have never shopped at Aldi to fathom how a grocery chain could do so well for so long in this day and age without taking credit cards but it's true.

Terrible news for all those price gougers in the organic groceries game but wonderful news for the raw foods movement and everyone else who will now be able to afford organic food when they couldn't before.

I have not been to an Aldi store for a couple of decades. Do shoppers still have to bring their own shopping bags or pay 10 cents each for them there? Do they still charge 25 cents to rent a shopping cart? Do you still have to pack and carry your own groceries? I would like to be properly prepared when I next shop there.

Yes to all of those things but I bring my own tote bags anyhow wherever I go so I am used to doing my own bagging. It doesn't even seem like anything special.

I find Aldi quite good. One of the things i like is you don't have twenty different types of the same product to choose from and everything is in the same place more or less each time you visit ( saves a lot of time ).
The prices are about 40% of the competition too.
As regards plastic bags in Ireland we were the first to put a tax on them to prevent pollution ( cut down the amount of plastic ) and prevent people discarding them on beaches and the countryside. it costs 25c ( euro for each bag )
