I'd climb a tree, get you the coconut you wanted, and you wouldn't even have to thank me. ;-)

Thanks for sharing your pics.

me too you've already posted nice things and that deserves a coconut at least smiling smiley

I like cameras too its nice to be able to take pics of food it seems to make it more fun somehow and just makes it easier you know like the way commercials do with bad foods making our good raw foods attractive looking tends to send messeges to help make it more appealing I find anyway

anyone want carrot celery parsly spinach juice?

Jelly coconut is a young coconut. The white coconut inside is soft like jelly. As a coconut ages, it gets firmer and thicker.

I think that is what CC is talking about.

Singinraw, you can order them online too. I'd get the "organic young coconuts", because the commercial coconuts are usually dipped in fungicides.

Yes florida jelly coconuts are like thai coconuts you get in oriental markets except those are not sweet and a little transparent. One has to try them.

I like climbimg trees but have you ever seen a coconut palm...lol!!!

You need a ladder and a saw. I did it once, here I am

All that is in the dish on my desk is papaya, pomegranate, avocado & blueberries
I have a nikon d70 and it really is about the lense...you get with it..

Yummy! That looks so good and it just made me realize that I was hungry. Time to go get my fruit!

My husband has the same camera as you, along with a bunch of different lenses. He just won an award for a picture that he took with it. It's an awesome camera.

We LOVE young coconuts at our house. My 3 year old daughter loves them more than anything. I only eat them once a week due to their high fat content, but I wish I could have one everyday!

Is there any tool/technique to easily, cleanly cut open a coconut/young coconut?

i bought a meat cleaver for the specific purpose of opening my young coconuts.

i first shave off an area at the top, then i whack a circular around around the crest and pop it open it like a soda can (a raw vegan soda! yay!)

when i whack the coconut, i'm partial to resting the knife on the nut and whacking the nut onto the counter (or better yet, the tile floor) rather than to take my big knife and trying to hit the nut from a distance. i'd rather keep all my fingers, thankyouverymuch. grinning smiley

Yes, my really strong husband! smiling smiley

He uses a big cleaver and then tears it open after making a good crack in the coconut.

Here you go, coconutcream! He entered this photo into a "Nature and Wildlife" contest and it won First Place. He's an amazing photographer! I've seen your pictures, though, and so are you.

I left the picture big so you could see all the details in it.

And here two more of my favorites of his pictures:

coconutcream, yes, he gets some hot pics of me, but I won't be posting those on here! In fact, he just told me that he wanted to take some new ones of me this weekend. He just got a new lens as well. Is that Chickadee the cutest bird? He waited and waited for the right time because it was really cold out, and he knew the bird was going to "fluff up" at any moment, and sure enough! He got the pic as soon as it did. He has been selling that picture to a lot of people.

I LOVE that picture of those flowers.

Watermelon juice! Man, I am jealous. You are so lucky to live in Miami and you have fresh fruit like that all the time. I miss good fruit! I noticed that you eat a lot of avocados. How many would you say that you eat each day? You seem to do great on them. I am trying to eat "lower fat", but I am so hungry all the time now!
