Excess Watermelon May Cause Hyponatremia
Posted by: Tai ()

This raw vegan experienced hyponatremia after consuming 30 pounds of watermelon. He does not consume salt. He gets his sodium from leafy greens and coconut water, etc. When this happened to him, he was cycling a lot and sweating and not consuming salt.

The basis of his argument is wrong.

In nature, there is no such excessive consumption of one fruit.

If animals in the wild were eating watermelon they would also eat the skin and hard part, which probably has salt, plus some of the soil and living bugs on the watermelon skin.

It is not a soil depletion problem.

It is just simply being stupid.

If you are not eating the proper way, you need to supplement.

Well giant juicy watermelons don't occur in Nature whatsoever, so maybe the error lies there...

Correct.

Do not drive by a giant watermelon, your car may be crushed.
