Looks like it's becoming a reality that those who 'test positive' for coronavirus will be quarantined, traced, tracked.

Apple and Google building coronavirus tracking tech for iOS and Android, coming in May

Two of the tech industry's biggest players are working together to fight the coronavirus, announcing a new set of tools that could come to a majority of smartphones around the world.

The new technology, outlined in white papers published by Apple and Google on Friday and further discussed in a call with reporters Monday, relies on Bluetooth wireless radio technology to help phones communicate with one another, ultimately warning users about people they've come in contact with who are infected with the coronavirus.

Cuoma issuing Executive Order that everyone has to wear a mask if they can't Social Distance -

[twitter.com]

#BREAKING: I am issuing an Executive Order today that all people MUST wear a mask or face covering in public in situations where social distancing is not possible.

For example, if you are riding on public transit where it is impossible to maintain social distancing, or walking on a busy sidewalk, you must wear a face covering like a bandana or a mask.

Some comments:

You lack the CONSTITUTIONAL AUTHORITY Cuomo the Dumbo. I support wearing masks in public and wear one myself but I don’t support you ILLEGALLY enforcing the compulsory purchase and mandatory face mask order. You’re an authoritarian who said you needed 40,000 ventilators!

Your daddy was corrupt, and so are you. So lets check the stock portfolios of every Cuomo for PPE manufacturers. As for your exec order, please stick my mask up your ____. I leave it to your demented imagination to fill in the blank. I won't be wearing a mask ever. God Bless USA

[twitter.com]

My daughter will not be attending high school next year because of your mandatory bacterial vaccine, now face masks for all? We are sovereign and free and do not consent to this! REMEMBER THIS NY, never forget, never forgive...VOTE HIM OUT!

Guess Masks are Mandatory in NJ, also and this guy is riled up -

And in Socialist Europe -

It has begun: German medical lawyer Beate Bahner, who has been committed to a psychiatric institution for publicly disagreeing with lockdown.

Coronavirus lockdown: German lawyer detained for opposition

A large number of well-established doctors and lawyers in the German-speaking countries have questioned the constitutionality of their governments' stringent confinement measures, which are commonly being referred to by the English loan-word der Shutdown (as there is no precedent for what to call the situation in German). These measures have begun to be challenged openly on the streets of Berlin. The medical and legal dissidents number in the dozens. None, however, has paid such a price for that freedom of speech as the German medical lawyer Beate Bahner, who has been committed to a psychiatric institution for publicly disagreeing with the measures and policies followed by the German government.

Rest of the story at the link.

Comment:

Now we see why the clauses altering detention under the Mental Health Act were added to the UK #CoronavirusAct.
Failure to obey is now considered a sign of insanity.

Oh, dear! Never mind the poor old people who are stuck in nursing homes waiting for death by coronavirus or at home isolated from their friends and families because they can't go out because they're stigmatized or scared of the coronavirus, this is the group of people who we should have sympathy for -

Many Trans Students Have Been Forced To Hide Their True Selves Because Of College Closures

Nora didn’t want to come home.

When Michigan State University, where she is a senior, shut down because of the coronavirus, Nora’s panicked parents brought her home. Back to rural Michigan, to an isolated house surrounded by woods and cornfields on all sides.

It’s a house where 21-year-old Nora, who is transgender, can’t be herself: where every day, her parents call her by the wrong name, use the wrong pronouns. Where she can’t dress the way she wants. Where she can’t leave the house — not even to go to the pharmacy to get the medications she needs for her gender affirmation, which her parents don’t know she’s taking.

Nora, who asked that her name not be used in this story, isn’t out to her parents. “I've got a strong feeling that if I were to come out,” she said, “I would be swiftly disowned.”

It’s “dehumanizing,” Nora said, not to be able to be herself, to be called every day by a name that isn’t hers. “Even if it comes from a place of ignorance.”

Students across the country have had to grapple with enormous loss as colleges shuttered their campuses last month: missed graduations and rituals; communities splintered across the country in a matter of days; uncertainty around grades, housing, financial aid, and nearly every other aspect of college life.

But for transgender students, the loss was often even more profound and complicating. For many, it meant a loss of safety and dignity, of access to vital health care and, fundamentally, a space — any space — where they could be themselves.

Those safe spaces are incredibly important right now. Trans kids are far more likely to report having attempted suicide than their cisgender peers and are more likely to have depression and anxiety. For many, access to medical transition services has been abruptly cut off, and some have lost access to mental health care, too. All of this means the coronavirus pandemic has put the mental and physical health of an already vulnerable group at far greater risk.

In interviews with BuzzFeed News, trans students described the experience of being trapped in a pandemic with families who do not accept them — a whiplash change from a college campus where they are openly trans, most for the first time in their lives, to a house where they are misgendered and called by deadnames.

Others who had the option made painful decisions to spend months living alone in their dorm rooms rather than going back to houses where they felt unsafe or unwelcome.

Taking the costume off can be frightening and dangerous. As the weeks tick by, students said, they are coping with the fear of being outed, or coming out, to families who might throw them out of their homes in the midst of a pandemic.

One student living at home weighed what felt like the necessity of coming out as trans and nonbinary against their own safety, their voice kept to a low whisper during an interview to prevent their parents from overhearing.

Elijah, a first-year student who is trans and wanted only his first name used in this story, said his life has been mostly confined to his dorm room: two lofted bunk beds, only one of them occupied, two desks, linoleum floors littered with takeout containers from the dining hall where he picks up his meals. He has a microwave, but no kitchen.

It’s not an ideal place to self-quarantine, but the option to stay at Michigan State has been vital for Elijah and many of his friends.

At home in Indianapolis, Elijah’s parents refuse to call him by his name or refer to him with the right pronouns. He came out to his mom last summer, and she was “worse than I expected.” The last time they spoke on the phone, she sent Elijah a text afterward asking if he spelled his name “Alisa,” which hurt: It was a feminine spelling, and that felt intentional.

And after they opened his mail and found out he was medically transitioning, his parents pushed back. They were not happy, Elijah said, that he had used their insurance to cover his health care. When his dad called him to talk about the mail he had read, he used words like “woman” and “girl” to refer to him.

Take handwashing: “When people encourage you to wash your hands more frequently, they expect you have access to a bathroom.” On Michigan State’s campus, many buildings have only one gender-neutral bathroom, usually with a single stall. That complicates the one task that public health officials have repeatedly stressed as vital to preventing infection.

Zoom isn’t without problems, though. It often automatically populates with trans people's deadnames — their birth names — since it’s registered to their emails. And online, Elijah’s professors sometimes assume students’ genders because of their voices.

“That @#$%& hurts, man,” Elijah said.

*******

Bad, bad parents!

So the LGBTQ? Community is milking the coronavirus, like the 'Inequality/Racism Card' players.

Here and there, but I don't remember much of what he had to say, except that he had a brain and was a free-thinker instead of a hack. It's a shame what happened to him lately, weird story.

Cuoma issuing Executive Order that everyone has to wear a mask if they can't Social Distance

Maybe the point is (a) to get everyone accustomed to looking like the Japanese, who wear masks for all and sundry reasons all the time; or (b) to have us get used to looking like Muslim women; or (c) to get everyone looking like antifa, who scare the @#$%& out of all decent persons,i.e., we will all be scared of each other.

Now that you mention it about the Japanese wearing masks, I've seen photos of that also, and I figured it was because of the air pollution there. We're lucky we live in a country with relatively good air. A commentator on the radio just remarked that you're 'shamed' if you don't wear a mask now. If I hear the word 'social distancing' one more time, I'm going to puke. Then those other buzz phrases like 'pay it forward', get on my nerves.

Fewer than half of Americans believe media provided 'clear view' of coronavirus dangers

[justthenews.com]

Voters under age 35 more likely than older respondents to believe media fueled panic by overhyping peril.

Sixty-seven percent of Democrats give the national media good marks for their handling of coronavirus coverage, while 55% of Republicans think the media overhyped the danger and created a panic, according to the Just the News Daily Poll with Scott Rasmussen.

"These results reflect a fairly typical partisan divide on the media," Rasmussen said. "For many Republicans – probably most – that national media or mainstream media is viewed as liberal media. They dismiss it in the same way that most Democrats dismiss conservative media outlets as partisan and biased."

Rasmussen noted that voters under 35 are evenly divided as to whether the media overhyped the danger. However, older voters give the media somewhat better marks.

"It is also interesting to note the generational differences," he said. "This obviously runs counter to the partisan leanings mentioned earlier. After all, younger voters are more likely to lean left in the political realm.

"While it's impossible to say for certain, it is likely that younger voters feel the impact of the lockdown more harshly since they are more likely to be out and about. Additionally, younger workers are more likely to feel the pain of income loss. At the same time, younger voters are less at risk from the coronavirus than their grandparents. This combination may – may – lead them to think the media response has overhyped the situation."

Data from sources like the Pew Research Center show Trump supporters and Republicans have a deep distrust of the national media. Research by Tom Patterson, a Harvard University Kennedy School of Government professor of government and the press, shows at least 80% of mainstream media coverage of Trump was negative during his first 100 days in office, what Patterson called an unprecedented figure.

On Monday, the White House cited a recent Gallup poll finding 55% of Americans disapprove of the media’s coronavirus coverage, while just 38% disapproving of the president's handling of the virus.

All respondents in the Just the News survey were asked: "Did the national news media create a panic by overhyping the coronavirus or did they serve the public by providing a clear view of the dangers?"

Respondents replied as below:

36% Overhyped the coronavirus
49% Provided a clear view of the dangers
15% Not Sure
