Historic Slavery and the Making of American Capitalism

"The roots of Amerika and it's financial/slavery system..."

EDWARD BAPTIST on his controversial new book, The Half Has Never Been Told: Slavery and the Making of American Capitalism-how slavery in the 100 years after American independence drove the rise of the United States to a world power.

irrelevant.

the issue here is that the idiots like schwab and others
want to replace a flawed system

WITH A TOP DOWN CONTROL SYSTEM

THAT is worse. much worse. and idiotic.
because they want to kill people. or they're just stupid.
and yet they think they are saviors of the world.

Honestly when I listen to Schwab, some of it sounds good, and parallels Jacques Fresco's thinking and some of it sounds terrifying. I know for sure, I'm NOT living in a "smart city".

It's pretty funny that the comments on their YouTube channel are just about 100% negative. I think they are just stupid and believe in what they're doing, but for those who think there is ALWAYS A NEFARIOUS side to everything in LIFE, it's fertile ground...

Naive at best as usual Jen...

"the softer interpretations of....slavery?"Thats a tough one, as the host points out....and what emerges is the concentration camp aspect of the romantic "old plantation" of the mystified Southern Past. The soft ball historians have been legion...and its good, citizens. to see that the truth...albeit slowly and painfully - is just beginning to emerge. The old South was a horror show built on rape and torture- not a Gone With the Wind fantasy.

In capitalism you will always have poverty and produce more losers than winners in an ever growing population. This can't be debunked by anyone.

How do you think Wall Street made it's first fortune? How do you think most family out of the New England Family made their wealth ? You better believe that a big chunk of it came from slavery . M

That this, the unspeakable brutality of slavery, surprises anyone is shocking. Americans are notoriously ignorant of their own history, but that educated people, a reviewer for "The Economist," lack the education, experience and imagination to apprehend this debased state of humanity, is the most disturbing thing of all.

Think of the MANY MANY MANY "Trail of Tears" the ancestors had to walk, INCLUDING the exact same one the Native Americans walked too, since the "civilized tribes" had enslaved African Americans as well.... smh

He's simply speaking the truth; why do white Americans (and sometimes Asian or Black Americans) continually deny the history of hypocrisy, evil and injustice that made this country what it is today?

Yes, there was Slavery in the South - THE SOUTHERN DEMOCRATS.

Yes, there was KKK - THE SOUTHERN DEMOCRATS

Yes, there was Jim Crow - THE DEMOCRATS

Yes, there was Racial Segregation - THE DEMOCRATS

Reminder - History Lesson:

IT IS AND WAS ALWAYS THE DEMOCRATS who WERE/ARE the RACISTS!

Me and my family and ancestors who came over here to the US from Europe - came to and settled and still live (and I grew up there) in THE NORTH, and have always been Republican. I and my Family have nothing to do with RACISM! We aren't now and never have been. And btw, where I grew up, up North, there was and now is - No Racism!

So THE LEFT can stop the incessant trying to Pin Racism on The Republicans, because it is and always has been THE DEMOCRATS who were and still are RACISTS!

From Dennis Prager -

Was America Founded by White Slave Owners?

[twitter.com]

Facts:

1. Every Civilization in the World Practiced Slavery

2. The U.S. Republicans - of which Abraham Lincoln was a Republican - fought in a Civil War to end Slavery of Blacks by THE DEMOCRATS

(DEMOCRATS Woodrow Wilson, FDR and LBJ - were Documented Extreme Racists)

3. The U.S. has since become the Least Racist, Least Xenophobic Country in the World

THOMAS SOWELL - THE REAL HISTORY OF SLAVERY

Excerpt from Thomas Sowell's "Black Rednecks & White Liberals".

Dr. Thomas Sowell is probably one of the most brilliant minds alive in America.

In a series of long essays, It presents eye-opening insights into the historical development of the ghetto culture that is today wrongly seen as a unique black identity--a culture cheered on toward self-destruction by white liberals who consider themselves "friends" of blacks. This essay titled "The Real History of Slavery" presents a jolting re-examination of that tragic institution and the narrow and distorted way it is too often seen today. The reasons for the venomous hatred of Jews, and of other groups like them in countries around the world, are explored in an essay that asks, "Are Jews Generic?" Misconceptions of German history in general, and of the Nazi era in particular, are also re-examined. So too are the inspiring achievements and painful tragedies of black education in the United States. "Black Rednecks and White Liberals" is the capstone of decades of outstanding research and writing on racial and cultural issues by Thomas Sowell.

Thomas Sowell: born June 30, 1930, is an American economist, turned social theorist, political philosopher, and author.

He is currently Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University. Sowell was born in North Carolina but grew up in Harlem, New York. He dropped out of high school and served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He received a bachelor's degree, graduating magna cum laude[6] from Harvard University in 1958 and a master's degree from Columbia University in 1959. In 1968, he earned his Doctorate in Economics from the University of Chicago.

Sowell has served on the faculties of several universities, including Cornell University and the University of California, Los Angeles. He has also worked for think tanks such as the Urban Institute. Since 1980, he has worked at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. He writes from a conservative libertarian perspective, advocating supply-side economics. Sowell has written more than thirty books (some which have been reprinted in revised editions), and his work has been widely anthologized. He is a National Humanities Medal recipient.

Sowell is both a syndicated columnist and an academic economist, whose column was distributed by Creators Syndicate. Themes of Sowell's writing range from social policy on race, ethnic groups, education, and decision-making, to classical and Marxist economics, to the problems of children perceived as having disabilities.

A Marxist black man in his twenties, while often described as a black conservative, he prefers not to be labeled, having stated, "I prefer not to have labels, but I suspect that 'libertarian' would suit me better than many others, although I disagree with the libertarian movement on a number of things". He primarily writes on economic subjects, generally advocating a free market approach to capitalism. Dr.Sowell opposes the Federal Reserve, arguing that it has been unsuccessful in preventing economic depressions and limiting inflation.

Dr.Sowell also writes on racial topics and is a critic of affirmative action and race-based quotas. On the topic of affirmative action, Sowell has stated it's "one of the few policies that can be said to harm virtually every group differently. Obviously, whites and Asians lose out when you have preferential admission for black students or Hispanic students—but blacks and Hispanics lose out because what typically happens is the students who have all the credentials to succeed in college are admitted to colleges where the standards are so much higher that they fail." He takes strong issue with the notion of government as a helper or savior of minorities, arguing that the historical record shows quite the opposite.

NO PARAGRAPH CAN DO JUSTICE TO A MAN WHO HAS WRITTEN OVER 30 BOOKS ON ECONOMICS, SOCIETY, POLITICS & RACE, but here goes. Thomas Sowell is an American original free-thinker, PhD economist, political philosopher and author who approaches the world with a practical logic honed as a Marxist in his 20's and refined in a conservative, libertarian with a Harvard, Columbia, University of Chicago pedigree all of which is built on a North Carolina Black South and New York Harlem upbringing. A list of his books includes titles such as:

Race and Economics
Markets and Minorities
Ethnic America: A History
The Economics and Politics of Race
Civil Rights: Rhetoric or Reality?
Marxism: Philosophy and Economics
Education: Assumptions Versus History
A Conflict of Visions: Ideological Origins of Political Struggles
Is Reality Optional?
Race and Culture: A World View
Migrations and Cultures: A World View
Affirmative Action Around the World: An Empirical Study
Black Rednecks & White Liberals: & Other Cultural & Ethnic Issues
Intellectuals and Society
Dismantling America
Intellectuals and Race.
Wealth, Poverty and Politics: An International Perspective.

You don't understand, it's not about Dems and Republicans, the ENTIRE SYSTEM, especially economics and politics is corrupt to the core. You HAVE TO BELIEVE in what you're posting so you can justify the route you've taken and believe you've "earned" your "private property"...

No, Why do THE DEMOCRATS continually deny THE DEMOCRATS' History of Hypocrisy, Evil and Injustice PERPETRATED BY THE DEMOCRATS that made this country what it is today!

Again - It's all on THE DEMOCRATS!

DEMOCRATS - The Party of Slavery!

What's Wrong With The 1619 Project?

In August of 2019, the New York Times published The 1619 Project. Its goal is to redefine the American experiment as rooted not in liberty but in slavery. In this video, Wilfred Reilly, Associate Professor of Political Science at Kentucky State University, responds to The 1619 Project’s major claims.

I didn't listen to the whole video, but the whole theme and premise of the video, based on the book, is - SLAVERY in America.

EDWARD BAPTIST on his controversial new book, The Half Has Never Been Told: Slavery and the Making of American Capitalism-how slavery in the 100 years after American independence drove the rise of the United States to a world power.

All THE DEMOCRATS do is beat the drum on SLAVERY, SLAVERY, SLAVERY! And like I said - THE LEFT is always trying to Pin Slavery on CONSERVATIVES!

Well, I'm refuting that and you. SLAVERY WAS, IS and ALWAYS HAS BEEN - THE DEMOCRATS!

***********

And CAPITALISM -

Capitalism is GREAT! Free Market Capitalism has taken most of WHOLE WORLD out of Poverty like nothing else ever has!

The problem is CRONYISM and CORPORATISM!

And surprise, surprise, surprise - Again (as with Slavery) CORPORATE AMERICA is OWNED By THE DEMOCRATS. BIG TECH, BIG CORPORATIONS and WALL STREET are totally owned by THE DEMOCRATS! Look it up.

(Side Note - That's why THE DEMOCRATS/THE LEFT and THE WORLD POWERS foisted THE COVID COUP on We the People - TO DESTROY SMALL BUSINESSES so BIG TECH/BIG CORPORATIONS could TAKE OVER and Usher In their Technocracy, NWO, Great Reset, Modern Monetary, etc.)

That's why THE DEMOCRATS had to STEAL THE ELECTION - because We the People don't want the Crap They're Selling!

It's all on THE FRIGGIN LEFT! THE DEMOCRATS!
