Frances Haugen, the so-called Facebook whistleblower who leaked internal documents to the Wall Street Journal lamenting that the Big Tech company wasn’t censoring enough content, is a confirmed left-wing activist and partisan operative, Federal Election Commission records show.

A simple search reveals that Haugen, who previously worked for other tech giants Google and Pinterest, has made more than 40 donations to Democrats totaling more than $2,000 since 2015. She has frequently contributed to ActBlue and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, and in January 2020, she gave money to the congressional campaign of radical Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, plus another contribution to AOC’s “Courage to Change” political action committee, according to The Daily Wire. Below is just a sampling:

Although Haugen had money to throw at AOC’s campaign, that same month she had enough in unpaid taxes that a $44,000 federal tax lien was placed against her, The Daily Wire also reported, noting that the lien was released earlier this summer.

Now the so-called whistleblower’s lawyers, who are otherwise working pro bono, are trying to raise $100,000 through GoFundMe allegedly to pay for their legal expenses.

This brings up another partisan snag for Haugen, whose lawyers are Whistleblower Aid — a group co-founded by John Tye and Mark Zaid. If Zaid’s name sounds familiar, it’s because he was part of the legal team, led by Andrew Bakaj, that represented the fake “whistleblower” whose complaint about then-President Donald Trump’s Ukraine phone call (a call about which the whistleblower did not have firsthand knowledge) catapulted the administration into a sham impeachment.

The whole Ukraine “whistleblower” debacle was fraught with deceit, such as his secretly meeting with Democrat members of Congress before filing his complaint with the intelligence community inspector general — a fact that House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff lied about. Corrupt media also worked with Democrats to conceal the identity of the so-called whistleblower, although RealClearInvestigations identified him as Eric Ciaramella, one of then-presidential candidate Joe Biden’s top Ukraine advisers.

This would have been a problem for Biden, of course, since the whole reason for Trump’s infamous phone call was to encourage Ukraine to investigate how when Biden was vice president, he had bribed Ukraine to fire the prosecutor investigating his scandal-ridden son Hunter Biden’s company — a bribe Joe Biden later bragged about.

Haugen’s 15 minutes as the Facebook “whistleblower” thus bears a resemblance to the Ukraine situation. She carefully leaked Facebook documents to the press while working with Zaid as well as Tye and Bakaj, who both used to work for prominent Democrats. Now she’s receiving “strategic communication guidance” from former Obama aide Bill Burton’s PR firm Bryson Gillette, which The Daily Wire described as “helmed by a raft of Democratic operatives.”

On Tuesday, Haugen testified before a Senate hearing at least in part to gain congressional support for more Big Tech censorship. She alleges that the company puts profits over safety by amplifying so-called misinformation — which she said is killing people, a talking point that’s also been parroted by the Biden White House.

The entire Facebook “whistleblower” ordeal comes amid widespread Big Tech censorship and dramatic partisan calls for crackdowns on what Democrats deem misinformation.

In July, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki announced that due to a handful of unnamed people on social media posting what the Biden administration considered to be misinformation, the White House is actively “flagging problematic posts for Facebook that spread disinformation” and “helping” to “boost trusted content.” She went on to say nothing is “off the table” for using Big Tech to quiet opposing views.

When a reporter asked Biden that same week what his message is to sites like Facebook, the president replied, “They’re killing people.”

The Facebook whistleblower who revealed herself in a 60 Minutes interview is getting strategic communications guidance from a top Democratic operative, according to a source with direct knowledge of the relationship, which was confirmed by another half-dozen sources with indirect knowledge of the partnership.

Frances Haugen, the former Facebook employee who has for the past 10 months fed internal documents to a top Wall Street Journal reporter, and who revealed her identity in a primetime broadcast on Sunday, is working with the political consultant and former Obama administration deputy press secretary Bill Burton and his consulting firm, Bryson Gillette. It is unclear when Haugen's relationship with Burton and Bryson Gillette began, how big her communications team is, and whether it includes other political operatives.

But Burton is now deeply integrated with an emerging infrastructure on the left comprised of individuals and organizations, including the nonprofit Center for Humane Technology, seeking to press Facebook to more aggressively police political content.

The Center for Humane Technology's "key advisers" also include Facebook cofounder and former New Republic owner Chris Hughes and is funded by left-wing charitable organizations including George Soros's Open Society Foundations, the Ford Foundation, and the Robert Wood Johnson foundation.

The Facebook whistleblower, Frances Haugen, has a record of donations to far-left Democrats and a history of raising issues about purported bias while at previous employers, a Daily Wire review found. She is working with Democrat operatives to roll out her complaint and has the same lawyers as the anonymous Ukraine “whistleblower” whose allegations led to Donald Trump’s impeachment, but who reportedly turned out to be then-Vice President Joe Biden’s top advisor on the country.

The Senate’s Sub-Committee on Consumer Protection, Product Safety, and Data Security, which is chaired by Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), invited her to testify to the panel on Tuesday to air her complaints, which consist in part of contending that Facebook did not censor enough speech. She says she was motivated to take action after a friend became “radicalized” by “misinformation.”

Despite having money for political donations, in January 2020, Haugen had a $44,000 federal tax lien placed against her for unpaid taxes, according to public records reviewed by The Daily Wire. The lien was released on May 17, 2021.

Her lawyers are now seeking to raise $50,000 on GoFundMe, money they say will go to covering legal expenses for the attorneys, who are otherwise working pro-bono.

Those lawyers are Whistleblower Aid, a group founded by Mark Zaid, who previously represented the national security official who alleged that Donald Trump inappropriately pressed the Ukraine president on a phone call to, in turn, investigate whether Joe Biden inappropriately pressed the country to drop an investigation into his son’s firm, Burisma.

The identity of that “whistleblower” — who did not have first-hand knowledge of the call — was fiercely shrouded. But some outlets reported that it was Eric Ciaramelli, Joe Biden’s top advisor on Ukraine. That position meant he could have been personally implicated by any misconduct Joe Biden may have undertaken around Ukraine during the Obama administration. It could have also been motivated by personal loyalty: Ciaramelli was close enough to Biden that Biden invited him as a guest to a State Department dinner.

In a roll-out that appeared carefully crafted by political and legal professionals, the allegation was leveled, led to a series of moves culminating in the impeachment of Trump, and shrank away, without the whistleblower’s name — and the potential conflicts it could bring — ever being revealed.

Before filing his complaint with the intelligence community inspector general, the whistleblower met with staff for Democrat Adam Schiff. Schiff later claimed “we have not spoken directly with the whistleblower,” a statement The Washington Post said was “flat-out-false.” The whistleblower, meanwhile, concealed from the inspector general that he had previously spoken to Congress about it. The complaint was filed the same month that Schiff hired Sean Misko, an NSC colleague of Ciaramelli, the Washington Examiner reported.

Haugen’s case has some similarities to the Ukraine/impeachment case. She carefully fed internal Facebook documents to the Wall Street Journal, working with Zaid and his law partners John Tye, a former Obama State Department official, and Andrew Bakaj, who worked for Democratic senators including Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.
