False Teeth

Date: July 10, 2024 03:34AM I'm afraid that since I had what was left of my upper teeth removed, the false teeth plate has had both psychological and physiological repercussions...
I've had trouble adjusting to them and they have forced me to consider that I'm getting rather old, a negative affect. Also, I couldn't keep up with raw foods, as my gums would pain me and food would get between my gum and the plate, which exacerbated the problem. So, I've had to chop my food very small, so I can COOK it and eat without the false teeth... Blasphemy, isn't it? And after years of being raw... I guess, that I'm just one of those people that have trouble like this, but what else am I to do??? Re: False Teeth

It's okay. You need to nourish yourself. And if you can't cope with raw food with your fake teeth, so be it. I have 3 molars gone and another one kind of shaky, so chewing can be an effort at times. JMO, but I still think that "false teeth" of the kind you have are better than the implanted teeth, those things they hammer permanently into your jaw and which cost thousands of $$$. Ghastly! Yet everyone and his dog over 30 seems to have them. Even if they don't really need total tooth replacement, they want those chiclets and I guess if your insurance pays for it, why not pretend you are a movie star. Maybe your false teeth need some adjustment? You could look into that. I can see how losing so many of your teeth can cause bad feelings, at least for a while. We all break down in big & small ways sooner or later. I don't know of anyone who died of old age with perfect teeth, unwrinkled skin, wonderful posture, no health issues, etc. Re: False Teeth

Date: July 11, 2024 11:55PM You can still get a good amount of raw food via smoothies. Do you have a working blender? You could also make raw soups and juices too. ![]() Re: False Teeth

Date: July 12, 2024 01:47AM Yeah, I agree with the blending and juicing. Sometimes I think I should try blending all my food because I don't masticate my food well enough and I've read that doing so is much healthier. I love making soups in my blender - raw and cooked. I wish I knew more raw blender soup recipes. I got my daughter a food processor, blender and juicer and I'm going to visit her next week to help her - juicing and blending to help her eat more raw.
If anybody knows of any good raw blender recipes, let me know please. I know there are loads online, but they're not all so good - I've tried some that just weren't good. Re: False Teeth

Date: July 12, 2024 09:35AM Hey, thx for your support Horsea. I have looked into alternatives; such as, plugs, so to remove most, if not all of the plastic and leave only the teeth. But still will cost around 16/17k...
However, I'm beginning to accept this change of life and the health concerns that go along with that change. The thing is, that I fight it and have joined a gym, bought a van to live in and am going to take a slow trip around oz. All to improve my quality of life as I age. Well, that's the plan, anyway! ATM, I'm still fitting out the van and should be ready for starting out during the summer... Re: False Teeth

Date: July 14, 2024 01:21AM Hey Jennifer, I used to use a really good Italian food chopper, that would chop my already chopped veggies into very small bits, almost like a blender. Though now, I may be able to do it again since buying the larger 12 to 240v inverter. Although, cooking seems to break down the chopped veggies pretty good, despite the destroying of nutrients via the cooking method, as you know. But if I can use a blender which doesn't use up too much battery amps, then I'm there...NO COOKING Re: False Teeth

Date: July 16, 2024 04:22AM Hey, Rawpractialist
yes, as I've said earlier, I've now a larger inverter to cope with such inventions... There're quite a few blenders that would be efficient, so I'll look into those. Most of them are pretty small and I'd need at least a litre capacity... I remember from before, that there were some blender type appliances that would fit the bill, though there would be many more now days... Re: False Teeth

The Royal family class of blenders are high-speed blenders, they are required for green smoothies. ![]() [jenniferskitchen.com] Low-class low-speed, low quality blenders are fine for fruits. Re: False Teeth

Date: July 24, 2024 07:04PM I have the Blendtec from 2005. It still works fine and makes very smooth cashew cream. A few years ago, I tried to make cashew cream in my daughter's Vitamix and it wouldn't make a smooth cream.
Recently I got her a new Blendtec Classic with the Wild Side jar and the first thing I tried to make was cashew cream and it wasn't smooth at all. Very bummed out about that. I feel like it's because of the wild side jar that's so big at the bottom. Re: False Teeth

Under Capitalism, people are creative, innovative, and more productive. The major discoveries in science, medicine, and other fields come from universities and research centers in capitalist countries. Every person is unique, and different and needs the freedom to grow and innovate. [www.heritage.org] Re: False Teeth

Date: July 27, 2024 12:21AM Look at the big picture. Just as we've changed our diet reduces our carbon footprint, so too, the system we live under needs further change on a global level...
Perhaps, 'sustainable development', like the 'Marine Stewardship Council' (MSC) and a more regulated media that reduces capitalist propaganda!!! Think about it... Geo Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/27/2024 12:22AM by utan. Re: False Teeth

Date: July 28, 2024 06:36PM Interesting article of one woman's comparison of Russia and the USA. Her characterization of the "Ownership Culture" was screwy if you ask me. Because the barista was In Charge Of the pastry items and said, "Sorry, I don't have a muffin, how about a scone?" the Russian woman wrote:
"The barista spoke as if he owned the place. He even tried to upsell. I later realized this was capitalism's ownership culture." Oh Brother! Give me a break. Capitalism's Ownership Culture! Like that's a bad thing. ![]() ******* Then with the Maternity Leave issue. If "The Government" pays for Maternity Leave (rather than the employer) that means The Taxpayers pay for other people's maternity leave. No thanks! Here's info on [www.cato.org] Re: False Teeth

Date: July 28, 2024 08:03PM Another good article - Mises - on Paid Family Leave -
Government-Enforced Paid Family Leave Is Not Pro-Family [mises.org] "Common sense tells us that it’s good for mothers and fathers to spend as much time as possible with new babies. However, the conclusion that businesses or the government must pay for this time is another fallacy—a non sequitur, or a logical leap across the Grand Canyon. Fathers and mothers should save and pay for the leave themselves." Yeah, I'm not paying for other people's (who have a bunch of kids they can't afford, live beyond their means, expect hand-outs, etc.) family leave. Edited 1 time(s). Date: July 29, 2024 11:45AM At least one member of the family.is working to qualify for family leave pay.
And companies have ways to compensate for that with lower wage increase or other means. The US and many other countries have bigger problems than family leave pay. 1. The hidden expenses of fatherless families. 2. The military

While I am not arguing with anything that woman from Russia has to say about her own experiences and observations, it does seem as if she is looking for some kind of Utopia. Russia was not a utopia for such & such reason, and now USA is not a utopia, either. Some of her complaints are just downright silly, for example, the way the clerk at the food joint expresses the lack of availability of muffins - and her version of the origins of this way of speaking. I was typing emails with one hand and breastfeeding my baby with the other, for eight hours a day. Boo hoo. I want EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING good and nothing bad! To cut short this comment, I should like to say it would make more sense for this self centered woman to compare USA and North Korea (for example). You want a garden of Eden, do you? LOL! People do not choose to live in extreme conditions Most accept, and adjust their lives to where they were born. The people of South Sudan have extremely hot weather and are naturally very tall. [earthlymission.com] Re: False Teeth

I found the above statement puzzling. If there were no summers in Russia, they would not be able to grow food crops. Typical high temperatures in the warm months of June, July and August are around 23 °C (73 °F), but during heat waves, which can occur anytime from May to September, daytime temperature highs often top 30 °C (86 °F) sometimes one or two weeks. The steppes have very cold winters and hot, dry summers. For city-breaks the best time to visit is May-September, when the day temperatures are in the 23-35 C, . Russia wheat production for marketing year 2023/24 is estimated at 91.5 million metric tons (mmt), up 1 percent from last month, but down 1 percent from last year, and up 15 percent from the 5-year average. ...and much more. Just look for it. Just look up "climate in Russia". Russia, like USA and Canada, has a variety of climatic areas. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/05/2024 01:18AM by Horsea. Re: False Teeth
