Are bananas supposed to have brown spots like rotten looking?

I know they should be freckled/spotted and covered in them but what about when there are black blotchy spots on it?

My bananas are pissing me off again. They were turning yellow and getting spotted, now one side is half brown and the other still has some green. Should I be eating them like that or what?

They could have been picked too green.

Possibly they are in an area of your house that is either too cold or too hot. Or they are exposed to direct sunlight.

Hmmm, by any chance are they near a window or sunlight or heat?
If so, maybe try and turn them over once in a while (once a day or
what ever works for you), it might help them ripen more evenly.

I like my bananas spotty on the outsided, but not too muchy or
dark on the inside.

Cheers,
Ian.

Yeah, they were completely green when I bought them.

And yeah, they're in a window because I noticed with direct sunlight on them they got yellow faster. But now they're like..multi colored. Oops.

Ugh I can't win. I'm going to buy a pet monkey and teach it to fetch bananas and bring them home.

I bought numerous bananas since going raw. Skin has proved to be a not so reliable way of determining the ripes ones. Some, when ripe, had just yellow skin. Some, had to be spotty to be OK to eat (most often occurring event). I even had some that had green skin yet were ripe (which is a very rare event, and usually a banana with a green skin is unripe). So, there is a little bit of trial and error. I tend to check whether bananas are soft enough, this usually is a pretty good indication of ripeness.
