Our RAW Valentines Day dinner!
Date: February 15, 2007 02:18AM

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a lovely day today. I made this dinner for my husband tonight partly as his V day present and partly to thank him for being so gungho with us going raw (he has eaten a typical SAD his whole life so this is a big change for him)!

Coconut noodles in a peanut sauce and a wakame and tomato salad with garlic and ginger:

Individual chocolate cherry "cheese"cakes for dessert:

The presentation on the cheesecakes is terrible because I don't have all my nifty fancy cake molds with me where I am right now and I had to improvise lol. It tastes better than it looks I swear haha.

Yummy. Good for him. My husband went raw with me a few months ago. He is very happy he did. He was SAD most of his life. He wants to be healthy and keep up with his healthy family. Your husband is lucky to have such a gourmet wife.

Hi guys... The recipes for the salad and noodles have been posted here: [thecoconutchronicles.com]. I will be posting the dessert recipe later tonight when I have a wee bit more time. I'll let you know when its up.

Could someone please tell me what SAD means? I've been seeing it posted but I don't know what in stands for.

coconut--

How do you prepare meals like that? They look so professional. I am always so jealous of other peoples gourmet meal preperations and presentation abilities. I am still eating my salads with olive oil and apple-cider vinegar. It's really sad!

Anyway--silly question. When you say 1/2 cup of ginger or 1 Tbsp ginger. Do you mean ginger grated? ginger juiced? The whole ginger root?

minou33- Thats not sad at all and believe me if I didn't have a meat eating husband to win over to the raw side, my meals would be very simple (if you look a few entries down on the blog you will see two very simply deconstructed salads that I think you'd really like.) My mom was a chef so I grew up with elaborate presentations.

Re: ginger... After I peel the root, I usually mince or grate mine fresh for the recipes.

coconutchronicles
yer mom was a chef?
wow. no wonder you're able to make such presentations
so naturally

seems like you're the raw chef now
what was in the chocolate mousse thing?
i looked on your website and it had a terrific recipe for the coconut noodle/peanut sauce but what about the chocolate?

i told a friend of mine that i would make her and her husband
a chocolate raw thing
but now i'm wondering:

i don't make a lot of things
and all i could think was dates rolled in coconuts
ha ha

so, it would be cool if it were more than that
they are sort of at the hinge of getting into rawfoods

her husband especially loves chocolate

cacao beans make me a bit cuckoo
so i've stayed away from them for a long time

but it would be nice to make something for them

i'm supposed to make it by friday ( cuz that is when i'll be seeing them again)

coconutchronicles, I made this dinner for my husband and I on Saturday night. All of it except for the cheesecake. It was fabulous. My daughter loved the wakame tomato salad, but the other dish was too spicy for her. It was a very rich dish...not something that I could eat all the time, but it was SO good. We loved it. Thanks for sharing this amazing recipe!

Yogamama - I totally agree with you... I'm a simple girl my7self but I had promised something special for the hubby on V Day. We definitely do not eat like that everyday! Much to heavy I think! <3 <3

la_veronique - I'll be putting that recipe up tomorrow... sorry about the delay guys, I've been between countries. I hope tomorrow wont be too late to make it for your friends! If you like dates take a look at my donut recipe... it should be in the "raw food photos" section on the blog.

coconutcream - you are my fruitarian inspiration! You are like a fruit goddess <3 <3
