Yoga. What Time of Day Do You Practice?

Hello, all,

Another fine weekend is upon us, and as I finshed practicing Yoga this morning, I wondered, "when do they practice?" So, I thought I'd write to all of you here and ask, what time of day do you practice?

I practice the sun salutation along with a few other favorite (difficult for me) postures in the morning; if I feel stressed or out-of-balance, I'll practice in the eveing as well.

By the way, yesterday afternoon I helped move my yoga instructor from one flat to the next. She offered to pay, but it wasn't about that for me. We settled on drinking some green/mint tea together.

Have fine, present weekend, all,

Arilraw

PS, I'd like to take the little darlings on a hike today, but it's 23 degrees in the valley, and the mountains' woods and meadows are a winter wonderland of a recent ice storm -may be we'll invent a game... Hmm... The Stair Master Game!

I practice in the mornings. It always feels so so good. On occasion I'll do a breathing exercise instead. I feel so incredibly peaceful afterwards, far more than doing the yoga. But yoga gives me something the breathing exercise doesn't. Doing both would be too time consuming.

I usually practice first thing in the morning, but sometimes I sneak in an evening practice as well. I find that I am more flexible in the evenings (which I am sure is true for most people), and I like to go to the studio for an evening class every once in a while. I also meditate in the mornings, before everyone else wakes up!

I practice three days a week; 20-30 minutes in the AM, 40-50 minutes in the PM.

brome - thank you _so_ much for posting that!

The Book of the Secrets is something that I've been slowly working through but didn't feel like I could bring it with me here to Hawaii (it's rainy season, we're pretty much outside all the time and I minimized the books). So I'm delighted that I can continue that exploration.

Morning yoga for me too but I used to love the evenings as well and might revisit that pattern also.

love
