Breakfast

Six-banana smoothie
1/3 C dates

Lunch

3 C fresh-squeezed grape juice (see results below)
A bit of papaya (see results below)

Dinner

Three-banana smoothie
1/3 C dates
A salad of
3 C baby romaine
Three bananas
Mango/celery dressing

-----

I couldn't remember if I liked papaya until today. I don't - too watery and bland.

I've noticed that if I consume a large quantity of very sweet fruit juice (i.e. grape or watermelon) too fast, I experience moderate abdominal/back pain for about ten minutes straight. I guess taking the juice too fast is equivalent to a "sugar bomb" on my digestive system. That's what happens when you only get 30 minutes for lunch. :-)

30th-5th

I had an accident, so was forced to take some time off work (funny how things work out!)

As a result, its been possible for me to rest and focus on myself and my diet.
Im sure that my new diet aided my speedy recovery!!

Bananas am

Banana mango spinach (or romanie) smoothie for lunch

grapes mid afternoon

green salad with tomatoes.
Blended greens/ lemon juice / dehydrated tomato dressings

(0n 2nd substituted avocado for tomatoes in evening meal)

So far, so good. No cravings.
Cant wait for my 8/1/1 book to arrive, should be any day now.
Im sleeping well.
I feel very clean, focused, happy and alive!
Its early days for me (as i have never eaten this much fruit before), but i havnt experienced energy swings eating this way (which ive experienced on previous Rv diets)
This way of eating appears to be suiting me.
I feel comfortable with it.

Hey yeah, FruitGirl!

I loved 'em, too! I loved all fruity sugary candy and popsicles. See, we had the correct knowing and in our desperation did the best we could.

Now we're on the right track, for sure! Thank goodness!

Yes, still yoga + ballet! And I'm glad to hear you're still loving the food of angels. . .me, too!

snack 4-5 cups spinach with 1\2 teaspoon sesame oil
diner celery, 3 mangoes, avocado, raisins

April 6 - starting today my fourth week raw ( just can't believe it!); my kids don't ever see anymore that I eat only fruits and greens - everything seems normal. I must say they do eat more raw too without much pain !!
so today :
breakfast : none
lunch : 1 tangerine mineola ( some intolerance to it), 1 avocado, 1 apple, lemon
diner : 4 cups spinach with 1/2 teaspoon olive oil, avocado (again), raisins

Note : Stil having some difficulties finding fruits I can digest correctly -

About watermelon
unfortunetaly, I can't eat it. Maybe I'll try in the summer to see if things have changed.

Should I be worried about getting in enough vitamin E ... Im not taking in any food that is really dense in it. I get about 50% from my daily greens that I through in with my Bananas, but I just dont know if thats enough.

Hey, where's Gosia? I haven't seen her post in a few days.

Cynthia, I'm sorry the watermelon didn't work out for you. Mango is good though...go with that for awhile! Ever thought of doing a mango mono diet for awhile? Maybe that's speed up your digestive healing process.

Mocha, just eat your fruit and don't worry about this nutrient or that nutrient. smiling smiley Who really knows how much vitamin E your body needs, anyway? Nutrients come neatly packaged in beautiful fruit, in quantities that are appropriate for our bodies and in a form that is best assimilated anyway!

Food:
Breakfast: None
Lunch: Salad at Souper Salad - lettuce, tomato, a little bit of celery, zucchini, mushroom, jicama and orange slices.
Dinner: Many bananas - lost count, probably 9 or 10 total, some in a smoothie with a few sticks of celery, and 1 ataulfo mango that really honestly looked ripe but wasn't quite ripe enough, and is now giving me a tummy ache sad smiley

Sarah, I'm still here, recording my food intake on a paper for now. I am at home now, and the rest of the data is at my office at work, so I will enter it all probably on Tuesday. I am going strong, getting more and more determined. I have a new goal too. To detox completely and finally get rid of my wobbly bits! I am very keen on doing this experiment for longer than just 30 days. I'm so glad I did it in the first place. I am learning new things (appreciating eating greens mono, enjoying foods without overt fats), which is fantastic. And I am so thankful for everyone sharing here. THANK YOU!

80/10/10 is Dr. Doug Graham's term for his low-fat, fruit based raw vegan diet, with 80% or more of the calories coming from carbs, and 10% or less coming from fat and protein each. He has a book The 80/10/10 Diet, which was recently released. You can see it/buy it at: [www.foodnsport.com]

THANK YOU Gosia, for starting this thread. It has been such an inspiration. I have known for the last year that my body wants me to eat high fruit/low fat but for emotional reasons I've found it hard to even start. I've recently managed to cut out salt/spices/condiments and nuts and with the help of this thread I've finally been eating high fruit/low fat for the past week. I'm probably eating too many dates at the moment as a replacement for the nuts/avocados but it's a step in the right direction. It has been so helpful to read what you and the others here eat.

Love, francis

April 7

1 pineapple
8 bananas
1 pound grapes

Woke the sleeping giant yesterday and ate a bunch of cooked food. I've been indoors a lot in the last few days and not exercising, and I think I built up a lot of anstiness and unrest that made me vulnerable to somewhat of an emotional tipping point. I had some weeeiiirrd dreams; felt like my whole body was clenching as I groggily woke up this morning. Waited until 2pm to eat today; hopefully the cooked food cleared from my tummy before I put pineapple on top of it!

How many of you adhere strictly to organic? Some have mentioned switching between organic and conventional.

I live in Atlanta, GA and have not yet seen an organic watermelon for sale. There are plenty of conventional and the organic melons will be here, mind you, but probably not for another couple months.

Thanks-

Josh, I do organic when I can (depending on price and availability) but don't stress to the extreme about it.

I haven't seen organic watermelon around my area either. The conventional ones have been tasting delcious, though! smiling smiley

11:30: green juice from a healthfood store : spinach, kale, cucmber, celery (organic)
12:30 : 2 lbs italian red seeded Muscatel grapes (commercial)
4:30 : 10 honey tangerines, 6 persimons (commercial)
5:30 : a few handfuls spinach, 1 large tomato, a plate full of bitter lettuce, 8 large ribs celery, 1 avacado (all organic)

generally all my greens, cucs, celery, tomatoes are organic. as are bananas usually and some types of citrus I buy organic if its not over 1.99/lb (the murcots were organic). If I eat apples they are always organic unless i'm buying lightly sprayed from a farmers market in bulk. I bought organic pineapple the other day and I think it was picked way too prematurely. so organic doesn't always line up with quality for me, especially with citrus. The honey tangerines I get 3 for $1 are very sweet indeed and the persimons I bought for 50 cents were dam out of this world, I skip the skins.

another day of snow in the sunshine!

Day 21 (4 April):
black Muscatel grapes, plums, mixed gourmet salad (at a uni bar), dates.

Fat intake: olive oil (no idea how much was in that salad, maybe 2 tablespoons???).

Day 22 (5 April):
red Globe grapes, carrot, kim-chi (I washed the spices off, but it was still strong), raspberry-blueberry-banana smoothie, persimmons yay!

Fat intake: very limited amount of overt fats on the kim-chi perhaps? (not sure if any)

I went to a market and found persimmons for $3.50 a kilo, amazing! I usually can get for like $2 a piece. I loaded up the trolley, marvelling at my luck.

Day 23 (6 April):
watermelon, spinach (mono these days), persimmons, kim-chi (my last time ever, read below), watermelon, persimmons (still can't believe my lack!).

Fat intake: very limited amount of overt fats on the kim-chi perhaps? (not sure if any)

Observations: I realized that my salt addiction is behind my desire for kim-chi. I had some salt in the mixed gourmet salad two days ago, then wanted something salty the following today. I'm glad I realized this. No more. I felt like spewing after having kim-chi this time. Yuck.

Day 24 (7 April):
strawberries, raspberries (from our garden), persimmons, watermelon, pistachios (1/2 cup, salted non-raw), banana-raspberry-strawberry smoothie.

Fat intake: pistachios are not low-fat.

Observations: My salt addiction came out again. As wise people say, it is important how you get up after a fall. I am going to beat this. My face is spotty all over. My body did not like the kim-chi.

Thoughts: Talking to my friends helps me. Especially, talking about my wobbly bits! Thanks Janita (http://www.raw-pleasure.com.au/content/view/118/1/)!

Day 25 (8 April):
watermelon, spinach, strawberries, raspberry-banana smoothie (raspberries from our garden yay!), watermelon, grapes.

Fat intake: no overt fats.

Observations: By cooked-food standards I am slim. I do get guys staring at me at the pool, or trying to flirt with me, so I probably do not look that bad. Luke tells my I'm gorgeous (but I am suspicious of that, what is his motivation? ha ha!). By raw-food standards, I have a little bit of excess fat on my body, and I do have a slightly sagging skin in various places as well. Not much, just a little, but enough to tell me that I haven't detoxed completely.

Emotions: sometimes upset (about getting old, or anything really, any reason will do), but carrying on. Thankfully, my skin is clearing. Spotty skin, sagging skin, getting old, waaa, that wasn't a nice place to be. I am going strong. Both Luke and I are now determined to finally break through. We both have had enough of our stagnation in our raw journey.

Exercise: Finally a breakthrough. I got off my bum and did a few laps at the pool. The determination to move was born. Yay! More to come.
