Why does eating grapes create a burning sensation in my stomach?

Has anyone else experienced this?

Just ate 2 lbs of green grapes from Chile. They were delicious but created a slight burning sensation in my stomach. Any explanation?

eating too many grapes make my stomach feel funny, too. it's not burning, but it's something....

I think it is either because of the ammounts of sugar or fiber.

apples are similar in theway they make my stomach feel, but not nearly as bad.

Whenever I eat grapes I always have to eat something else in order to feel normal. I usually just avoid them even tho they are like my top three favorite fruits. I don't like how they feel in my tummy so i figure my body doesn't really want them at least not now.

Felix,

The only time I eat green grapes is in the late summer when they are at there prime.Never liked those imported ones from Chile in the winter.

Buy Local whenever possible.

But they taste so good! I just can't stop eating them. And they were so cheap, 79 cents a lb Canadian. A real bargain! Good to know that others have problems with them too. I'm not unique. Thanks for your replies! smiling smiley

i personally think that green and purple grapes TASTE like they have a lot of tannin ( don't know if they actually do)... because of that bitter/sour taste they can have... i agree.. apples and grapes dont' sit well with me... perhaps it could be something with the acid level too? apples never make me feel real good unless they are almost over ripe and SUPER sweet...
