Re: Short survey for raw foodists (regarding gum recession)

Can't say that I've noticed any positive results from having most of my amalgams replaced. Can't say I notice anything negative as a result either. Maybe I'll notice something sometime down the road. After all the amalgam is gone and after my body has removed all the mercury that has accumulated over the years. That is, of course, considering that my body has stored up mercury that has come from my amalgam fillings.

I've got a few left. Having at least one taken out per week.

Yeah, I have also read that it's a dangerous procedure and that lots of precautions should be adhered to. Hal Huggins suggests lots of things in addition to just the usual rubber dam and something to cover your nose so you don't inhale the mercury. If Huggins is right with his suggestions, then wow ....

!!!! omg that is terrible !!!!

I wasn't going to reply to the survey, but I just can't believe people do that! I mean, I can believe it, but it's just hard to believe someone would be so low. Why!? Isn't that illegal??

Learningtofly,

Hi there.

The longest 100% raw period I had was merely 34 days after I've been 50% raw for about 1.5 years. I don't have any problems with my gum after eating more raw, except that my gum used to bleed when I brush my teeth, but it had happened years before I started raw. I've not been raw for long, just 50% raw on and off for 2 years, mostly sweet fruits. So maybe it didn't count. However, I ate mostly durians, which is as high fat as avocadoes, during the 34 days.

Avocadoes- I only bought them twice. The first time it turned out to be rotten one and I just threw it away. Second time I had one bite and that's it, I threw away the rest 'cause I really dislike its taste. On top of that I want to say that I lived in Malaysia where some people here have never seen avocadoes in their life. For me, I didn't know there's a fruit called avocado until I was introduced to raw.

Gum recession... my stupid guess is that maybe eating food which are too hard-like nuts and seeds-spoiled our teeth.

Hope it helps, or at least makes you smile.smiling smiley

All the Best,
Wong
