What is it?
Posted by: rawgosia ()

Have you ever planted a seed, then forgot about it, then discovered that it sprouted, but could not remember what it was? I have! I planted several seeds, and this one sprouted and is thriving. The plant is not very big, perhaps 6cm high, and is growing quite slowly in our greenhouse. It must be some kind of a sweet or nonsweet fruit, as these were the only things I've been experimenting with. Do you know what it is?

I think it is some kind of bush or perhaps even a tree.

I am not forgetful, by the way, I simply use my memory in an efficient way to remember only important things and empty it often.

its an array of pixels translated from kilo-bits of information stored on a hard-drive somewhere in cyberspace translating as a photograph of a potted plant!

Ceci n'est pas une pipe

"this is not a pipe"

my guess is pepper.

Gosh Gosia,

I'm with The Enchantress, it looks like Basil. You should be able to determine if it is by the smell even on such a small plant.

I'm with anaken

it is not a plant
rather it is a semiotic version of a plant
the signifier is the photo
the signified is plant
the denotative meaning is plant
the connotative meaning is lush, vibrant, radiant, herbal, fruity, bliss smiling smiley

at any rate,
it looks like a basil
but it could be a big ginormous unidentified strawberry pumpkin squash like
peach for all i know smiling smiley

That tear on a leaf is actually my fault. I remember now, I did smell it and taste it before. I did smell it again today. This it not a basil. It could well be what anaken and la_veronique says. In fact, it is. But what about the plant? I am thinking now. Could it be a persimmon by a wild chance? How long do I have to wait to know for sure? I could try digging it gently out and check out what's underneath. Is there a seed attached to it still? But, the plant might not like it. It might prefer for me to wait and see. Maybe I should email some gardening so-called expert. But then, the mystery might end?

We've all planted some 'negative seeds' in our lives. Boy I sure wish I didn't know what they were. Then again I wish they never sprouted.

Well, I am guessing it may be some type of a fruit tree. To start with, the seeds I planted, were fruit-tree types. Next, the leaves of this plant are not as delicate as those of a basil, or spinach, for example. They are quite robust and thick, compared to a basil, or spinach. Further, the plant growns vey slowly. It's been in the greenhouse for a couple of months and it is still quite small. I wish it was a persimmon.
