Date: April 14, 2007 09:52PM The fibers in sugar cane are pretty tough. No matter how much I chewed, I could never get the fibers small enough that my body/mind would allow me to swallow them.
As for the juice, I have had sugar cane juice. It is quite concentrated, and packs quite a sugar hit. Given that this juice has zero fiber, my guess is that it would wreak havoc on many people's (even fruitarians) blood sugar. In whole fruits, the soluble fibers in the fruit slow down the release of sugar from the digestive system into the blood stream. Re: raw sugar cane

We also drank the juice. SCJ with ginger and lemon became an outstanding favourite of mine, so much so I looked into buying cane specific juicer. Never blood sugar problems, just pure clean stable energy. elnatural_1 Re: raw sugar cane
