Date: April 27, 2007 12:55PM I've been using cacao because I was under the impression that it is good for me. I certainly don't even think it tastes that great- it takes the edge off the maca (oh, please tell me if that is supposed to be toxic, too), but it isn't anything special.
I certainly wasn't craving chocolate after starting raw. But "high??" HUH??? What is this high effect you are feeling? ..it sounds pretty fun. ;-) I jest! I can only imagine that only those who are really clean can be having that high feeling, because I certainly feel nothing. Psssshhh, this info will just save me the extra money next time I go to the health food store! Really though. I'd like to experience this sensation, just to tell my friends- who are hardore SAD, and consider a good time getting completely drunk 4 times a week, and who already think I'm insane for being raw and mock me for acting as though "my body is a temple," that I now cannot eat that cacao I was talking about. Because I get messed up from it. Again I joke. I have no desire to get "cacao high." Have any of you felt it before, though? What is the sensation? (Seriously, not because I want to try but because I'm curious about the helath issue.) Re: READ WHAT MIKE ADAMS SAID ABOUT RAW CHOCOLATE.

Date: April 27, 2007 01:15PM i get cocoa high lol, i seriously doubt its like any drug,, but i hav low seratonin and cocoa has lots of seratonin, so wat i may experience may actually be normal, thus making me believe it is a high lol,, i smile and yess i laugh, which is different for my sad, gloomy, depressed self,, but its NOT like pot or nething like that lol, there is no serious side effect with cocoa for me except that i feel happy, not spaced out or crazy hyper or watever, so ther u go :p Re: READ WHAT MIKE ADAMS SAID ABOUT RAW CHOCOLATE.

Date: April 27, 2007 02:26PM Garlic is good too.
Allowable levels of insect matter, rat hairs, etc., is common across all foodstuffs, set by, I believe, the FDA. Which isn't to say some companies won't have better standards than others. I don't know that the cocoa industry is any more likely to push the bounds of these permissible values than others though. -Erin Raw Done Light dogma-free RAW Gazpacho For The Soul Edited 1 time(s). Date: April 28, 2007 12:23AM actually cacao just stimulates serotonin in your brain it doesnt actually have it in it as far as i know
Cacao contains monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAO Inhibitors) that improve our mood because they allow serotonin and dopamine to remain in the bloodstream longer without being broken down. better then prozac i guess ...lol Re: READ WHAT MIKE ADAMS SAID ABOUT RAW CHOCOLATE.

Date: April 28, 2007 07:21AM in the latest issue of living nutrition, dr douglas grahm bashed raw chocolate to the ground. Saying "its unfit for human consumption, full of harmful drugs including caffiene, bla bla...." i personaly love it first thing in the morning with a big glass of green smoothie!
