My father took me to the food store today (which is a really cool food store because they sell food plants as well as plant foods).

We each got 2 baby arugula plants.

Hah I think tyler was too short, or it was already taken or something... abc123tyler is what I use for a IM name and for my secondary email address too. Easy to remember, easy to tell people what my name is and not spell it! And, it has tyler in it so you know my name.

Arugula,

It's really easy to grow arugula from seed:

You prepare the seed bed from your good organic soil (rake it well so it's like coffee grounds). Moisten the soil.

Then mix the arugula seed with a bunch of dry soil to make it more spreadable, and then spread the seed/soil mixture on your prepared seed bed. Finally cover the seed with ~1/8"-1/4" of soil. Keep it well watered, especially for the first few days while the seeds are sprouting. You'll have fresh arugula quickly. You don't need to plant individual seeds.

Arugula tends to bolt and get too spicy in hot weather. Like lettuces, it prefers cold or cool weather.

I'm not growing salad this year because I don't have a rabbit fence, but when I did, I'd mix all sorts of lettuce/greens seeds together, broadcast them as above and have a huge living salad bowl.

Thank you, greenie, that is what I thought. I asked my dad if it was appropriate for summer since I have prev. experience only with cooler temps but he did not object so I got some.

I like rawrrr. it reminds me of RAW Power. It was a toy I had on my bike that made it sound like I was revving up an engine when I turned it back like a motercycle handle. The commercials would say RRRAAAAWWWWW Powerrrrr.

One of the coolest names I've come across was not from this board, but it sticks with me..Joyful Cloud Drifter..I just like the vision it brings up.

Years ago, (about 12 years ago) I thought it would be fun to publish a book on people's online names they pick. The names we pick for ourselves really say something about us or our opinion of ourselves.
