bleeding bowel

I have been raw for three weeks now and have felt well. Now suddenly today my bowel is bleeding and I have a lot of cramping. Should I be worried? I just find it strange that I never had this before and you would think on raw that I would be getting better, not worse. Could this be a form of detoxing?

No. That's not a symptom of detox.

Go see about it. It may not be anything terribly serious as even a very small tear on the bowel wall can cause considerable bleeding, but you should definitely go check it out.

Let us know how it goes.

You should see a doctor, it could be a problem. A short fast might help.

I agree that you should check with your doctor. If nothing else, to put your mind at ease. This may be a really positive thing for you. Good luck (don't ignore it, though) -J-

You mean the bleeding might be positive?

It has stopped and I feel fine so I'm notrushing to the doctor. I will go in a few weeks and just mention it.

it can be something as simple as a burst hemroid or as complicated as any bowel/colon issue

i sometimes get bloody stools but its for a reacurring hemroid inside my colon

see a doctor for certain to rule out anything serious smiling smiley

My theory is checking it out with the doctor will alleviate any concerns and get to the bottom why the bleeding occured. Always better to be safe than sorry! -J-

By "positive" I mean that your body is telling you something that shouldn't be ignored. Sometimes our bodies have problems with no symptoms until it's really bad. Since it stopped, maybe it was nothing. My BM was like blood last week but it was the beet coleslaw I had eaten a lot of. Once I realized it wasn't blood it was pretty funny. I guess I still wasn't digesting that well yet. It seems to get better every day.

Perhaps it was something like a seed or a nut that scraped your tissue on the way out...try to remember what you ate prior to this happening...
