Date: July 07, 2007 08:13PM i thought with myself being such a newbie it would be fun to find out why you chose this foodstyle. for me it is trying to become the healtiest i can and to give my body what it takes to be healthy and running at its best. i also have a problem with eating animals...it just doesn't feel right. except sushi, i love sushi so that part is really hard to give up

Date: July 08, 2007 09:34PM I came upon a book that talked a little about raw foods. It asked, "how do you feel after you ate a cooked meal? What does your body go through?" So after I read that, I started to pay attention to how I felt afterwards. Lets just say that eating raw made me feel great, have more energy, and I didn't get that bloated full feeling! So that is why I love eating raw. Re: why

Date: July 09, 2007 02:52PM You can still eat sushi. A lot of people sprout their rice, I don't, personally, but I know it's far healthier than eating boiled white rice if you sprout brown rice. Others substitute minced turnips (or any root vegetable) for rice when they make raw sushi. You put that and any desired vegetables, usually some avocado, on an unroasted nori sheet and roll it up. When I used to make it I couldn't cut it, but yeah, that's the general idea. I know RawGosia's site has a recipe.

Date: July 09, 2007 04:03PM Initially, the simplicity of it. I like things in their basic most natural form.
The second time around was for health reasons. I messed myself up by going off raw after about 5 years Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/09/2007 04:03PM by tanawana. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
