Date: September 20, 2007 02:37AM I've read most of the back posts on the subject..anyone have any personal experience?
honestly, I don't have the means to drop on dues unless I knew i'd be placed somewhere that works for me. my thinking is either Southern California or Florida from January-> or if anyone just simply knows good folks with a fruit farm/lodging I work out like a horse, and know all kinds of stuff! please PM me Re: people with personal experience with 'WOOFing'

what does this mean? do you have to pay to wwoof in the US? that is very strange. in canada it's free. my sister did it for a while in BC and discovered the place she wants to live. she had a great time, made wonderful friends and learned a ton. have you talked to david mason? he may know of something. here's his site [www.rawfoodfarm.com] there used to be a living foods retreat in michigan where you could do an energy exchange. wonder if it is still running. there is the big yoga place in NY too, not raw but sounds amazing anyhow. Date: September 20, 2007 06:13PM I WWOOFed in Nova Scotia this past June for 12 days. It was a great experience. Membership fees are not expensive by the way.. $40 a year?.. I brought my boyfriend with me and he didn't pay any dues. We plan on WWOOFing across the US and other places in the world. It is such a great way to see the world, learn about organic farming/simple living and get to know what life is like for other people. It was an amazing learning experience! The only thing you should be aware of is to contact all the hosts you are interested in (and early since they book up!) and find out exactly what they are looking for. Some hosts are like nazis expecting a lot of work from you. Others are more laid back and just looking for company and people to introduce their lifestyle too. Date: September 20, 2007 11:53PM You can look through the catalog here www.organicvolunteers.com before signing up (paying gives you the host's contact information, but their ad and the woofer feedback is all viewable.) In my experience it is possible to find situations which will support a high fruit organic raw diet; but it takes investigation and inquiry. Re: people with personal experience with 'WOOFing'
