When detox makes you sick angry smiley

I've heard big detox symptoms are milestones and should be embraced, so I'm excited on that note, BUT...

I'm starting to get a sore throat! My whole life I was prone to terrible sore throats, sometimes to the point where my neck would swell and I couldn't turn my head, so no doubt I have some healing to do in that department. I successfully mono-oranged for three days, and now last night into this morning I'm starting to get a baaaad sore throat.

I want to both allow my body to continue to heal and get through the crisis ASAP, but I also have a very active and demanding job, with some long hours looming ahead this weekend. Does eating heavier foods like durian, avocados, and sprouts pull the e-brake on detox completely, or does it just slow it down?

I don't have the discipline to mono for more than three days at a time, at least not with a January selection of produce. >.< What about having a variance of mono meals, as compromise?

I'd love to be lying on the beach in the Caribbean, getting some sun and slurping down coconuts, I'm sure I'd feel better in an instant. But until then...

I hear you Phantom. Sore throat = normal. In my experience, when you DO actually get sick...is the time to eat very lightly...to allow the body to rally against it. Once you are ill - eating heavier will not slow that sort of detox...only burden the body further. In my opinion, just eat lightly of tasty fruits or healthy veggie until your crisis passes. THEN you can be more concerned with pure fasts or attending to dietary changes.
