If the pineapple is organic you can make juice with it skin.It is very good.Blend the skin with water and then strain it.

Yes, with most conventionally grown pineapple, the plants are sprayed last when the fruit is still very small. Sometimes plants are fumigated to force ripening, but not always. Usually, it's a few months between the last chem application and the harvest, so that and the fact that it has a thick skin makes it an OK choice for a conventionally grown fruit....in my opinion(but I'm not sure what happens to pineapple grown in developing countries..their procedures may be different).

Greg, I had to thank you for the breathtaking pictures - so lovely! made me feel good to see them!

I started blending all my pinneapple to avoid that funny mouth feeling, not sure if that really corrects the issue of a non-ripe one, lol, but my mouth prefers it!

Well, I blended it up with some frozen banana and a peeled lemon. It tasted delicious and I don't feel any ill effects from eating the nonorganic pineapple. Yay!

how could i not respond to this.

i am dismayed with the selection of pineapples in the stores, yet again.

what!!! non organic pineapple is fumigated?

is that what that white powder is on some of the pineapples i buy.

i put the pineapples in the sink and rinse before cutting, but still...yuch!

i wish i was in hawaii, and could eat the perfectly ripe pineapples that they

give to maui greg.
