Teeth and baking soda...

Some ppl use baking soda to brush their teeth right? Does anyone know if the baking soda would damage any possible new enamel growth? I've stopped using toothpaste in an attempt to re-grow my enamel and I'm just using water now... but am considering baking soda. Anyone here know??
