My first raw apple pie!

Well, technically second. But the first was like a first draft. Here's the real deal! The picture is from my camera phone, so it's not great.

For the most part it's Ani Phyo's recipe, with a few minor modifications. I let the apples soak in the stuff overnight separately from the crust before "assembling" it. I even did the pinchy thing with the crust!

Going to spring it on my family for easter tomorrow.

That looks good! I made that Ani Phyo recipe too and ended up eating it for breakfast it was so tempting smiling smiley

I just made a raw pie to take to my parents'for Easter - I used the pie crust from that apple pie, then the cashew frosting from her carrot cake recipe, then I put blueberries all over the top. Looks REALLY good. Means I can eat that instead of birthday cake on Easter day (it's my Dad's birthday that day too) and anyone else who wants to eat more healthily can as well.

Here's Ani with her recipe on youtube:

For a simpler version, you can soak apples in lemon and cinnoman over night for the filling. But Ani's (the one I made) is not that hard. Just an orange (peeled and seeded of course) and 2 cups of dates in a food processor. (plus cinnamon. Don't forget the cinnamon!)

So I guess it was good...I didn't get a look in so I don't know!

Bet she has a bad tummy now

My family ate about half the pie. I had competition with other desserts including a regular apple pie! So half is pretty good. I left the rest with my mom and told her she needs to eat it for breakfast because it's good for her.

I looked over at one point and my aunt was eating my pie - with whipped cream on it. Oh well, at least she was eating it!

Half isn't bad, not when you consider they don't eat raw. I knew it would be good! Congrats!
