just had my first RAW water chestnut.. pealed it thinly...since it's not organic... IT IS SOOOOO NICELY JUICY & SWEET &&&...it is like a cross between the sugar cane & the brazil nut to me.... Date: June 03, 2006 05:08PM check out any oriental market, or a store with fancy/rare oriental cousine foods/herbs...we have one at the Granville Island Market in Vancouver BC, that's where i got my first one, thou seen them few times other places....

Are they a softer nut that's yellow in color and have a brown outer shell?
