I use to think that a juice fast was a sufficient fast but now water or nothing at all is truly a fast because with juice your body is stilling having to digest something, yes/no? Also, with fasting doesn't this slow down the metabolism? It's everywhere (books, internet, etc.) that if you eat small but frequent meals will speed up the metabolism. -Fasting is not all or nothing. It is a spectrum........with tons of heavy and mixed foods (daily) on one end.......with light foods in the middle......and with fresh juices and water on the other end. -I think a single fruit fast....or a juice fast......can be a wonderful addition to one's lifestyle.......especially if one is used to eating heavier / mixed / cooked foods. -I think that fasting becomes a stronger force in one's lifestyle.......when a person forgoes a long and drastic fast......and engages in routine and very small fasting regimes (like fasting a fixed number of meals per week). -And yes. Fasting does tend to slow your metabolism. -David Mason Re: Is it not fasting if you're......

Twice a week I do a 3-4 ounces of wheatgrass but fasting with this juice has me wondering... What about a coconut juice fast? Why Vegan? Because I have the most love and admiration for all animals of the earth!!! a rawvegan hopeful, rawdev4life!!! Re: Is it not fasting if you're......

Date: June 17, 2006 09:02PM Yes, I have found that engaging in small juice fasts are extremely helpful. I find it better than "true fasting" with or without water. Having a routine of doing a juice fast once a week in itself is lovely. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
