Date: April 01, 2008 10:51PM dzm: Do the grounding foods you mention work for most people, or do we all have to figure that out on our own?
Also, you mean to regulate spaciness, etc. anytime or just when we're detoxing? If I'm not ingesting anything harmful then my body shouldn't be in detox mode, should it? The term "detox" is used so often that I think I may have lost sight of what it actually means. Does this make any sense to you? I'm really not as clueless as I sound, you know. Date: April 01, 2008 11:50PM Lanie: it differs a bit...depending on where on your/the spectrum you are on. For some, root vegetables work. For others, coconut or avocado. For some...they have to eat enzymatically reduced transition foods like dehydrated items to feel grounded. So it varies a bit. In my experience, tropical fruits and fruit juices are very cleansing....and will speed up detox......while the above mentioned items will tend to slow it down and ground you. Medications, stimulants, depressants and other chemicals....as well as stress...tend to short-circuit detox altogether (not good).
-Spaciness often occurs during detox....yes...but CAN happen almost anytime...when changing the diet too radically or too quickly. A person can feel 'disconnected' even. While transitioning...one is always in some level of detox....even if it falls below the radar. -Lanie! You are clueless in a GOOD way! LOL. -David Z. Mason WWW.RawFoodFarm.com Re: Grounding foods

Also avocados and sunflower seeds. I tend to binge on the seeds though, so I usually try to grab an avocado. Re: Grounding foods

Date: April 02, 2008 02:20PM Rosemary, I am getting ready for a big party for two of my kids. We made ice cream last night and it was fantastic and really very easy. I used these recipes as a guide but made up my own.

Date: April 02, 2008 08:21PM Ha ha...that's so true david. I'd MUCH rather be a detox space cadet than from all the other nefarious substances out there....not the least of which being the scary "foods" running rampant in SAD diets.
Luckily I've been a full-fledged (unapologetic) plant eater for 20 years now, the last 10 as vegan, so any transitioning going on is probably as a result of becoming raw...going on a year already I think. Done the master cleanse a handful of times, but since maple syrup isn't raw I'm nixing that from the scenery as well. My most recent detox stint has been Edgar Cayce's 3-day apple fast, which I've done twice and absolutely LOVE. Heard about it from you guys in fact. Thanks, as always, for your words of wisdom and insight. I can always count on you (and this awesome, if not "slightly" eclectic, forum (-: ) for some good solid answers. ~lanie "Beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing lies a field.
