Yes, it's very easy and safe to make at home. Just go to [www.happyherbalist.com] and click on the kombucha links on the left. The entire kit, including a heating pad, 5 gallon container, kombucha, ph test strips, should run you about $70.00 + s&h. This is a one time expense because, once you get the kombucha started you simply need to "add to the mix" to keep it working. That said, you won't need to order anything from them for awhile because you can use any tea that you like. I like rooibos because it's caffeine free.
