More ways to eat organic cheaper:

-buy the organic produce in the store that is at or under $1 or $2 a lb.
-make friends with organic farmers and buy their seconds (often the best tasting produce but not good enough looking to sell at stores)
-become an organic farmer
-learn how to do sprouting in your kitchen
-grow a kitchen garden (herbs and lettuces can grow well in pots in your kitchen)
-order specials from [www.diamondorganics.com] online
-ask your grocery store to order you a box of one kind of organic in-season fruit or vegetable each week
-make friends with your local organic produce stand and get their decent end-of-day throw-aways
-find a local farmers market here: [www.ams.usda.gov]
-locate organic farms in your area here: [www.localharvest.org]
-locate an organic box program that delivers a box of organic produce every week also at localharvest.org
-start a produce-swap outside your local small health food store where everyone who has extra fruit and veggies from their gardens and fruit trees can trade once a week or leave and take produce any time on an honor-system
-volunteer at an organic farm
-organize small private or school field trips to organic farms near you so you can get to know the farmers and also get your kids working in the earth – Earth Therapy! (Added benefit: gets kids to love eating raw organic food!)
-start a garden with your kids
-offer to pick neighbors’ excess fruit (all those people who’s plums always rot on the ground every year)
-find a community garden near you at [www.communitygarden.org]
-do a talk about the importance of organic foods at your local grocery store or health food store to increase the demand for organics in your community See [takeafruitBreak.com] for 10 reasons to eat organic produce
