Update on Dr. Clement
Posted by: davidzanemason ()

For those that are keeping track, I just wanted to re-iterate that Dr. Clement and my buddy Rich have bent over backwards to make sure that the more comprehensive SpectraCell analysis is able to be performed on my blood. I was joking that others seem to be far more interested in the results than I am! Ha! ha! Either way, if it will help in some way...I am more than happy to do it! winking smiley Even though being stuck is not my favorite past-time....but that probably applies to everyone. Heh..heh.

-The update is that Rich made sure that all I need to do is contact the nearest lab / physician that will draw blood for the SpectraCell testing....then just set up the appointment....then just let him know. Of course, Dr. Clement has graciously offered to pay for these tests. I will try to set up to have blood drawn either later this week or more probably early next week. I do promise that I will share the results with any who are interested - of course.

My desire is that even if my blood turns out to be full of guacamole and watermelon pulp....that people pursue THEIR dreams. My personal opinion is that there is no ONE empirical way for humans to eat....or live....only what is best for a person at THEIR stage....you know? At best, there might be what works for 'most' people. But the true opening flower is not MOST flowers.

-I urge those who seek a healthier lifestyle to only listen to those that have walked the walk that you wish to see. And to TRY those new things......and be comfortable with your choices....before making your own judgment. Then PASS ON what has worked for you. Changing from a SEEKER to a BEACON. Changing from a 'taker' to a 'leaver'. From a 'fighter' to an 'accepter'. Seeking a new excitement: The opening up of your own heartlines........and the wonderful outward flow.....and the glorious wonder when even one trickle of your love waters some life....ANYWHERE....and helps it to grow....even for an instant.

-Just my thoughts/opinions.

What's wrong with being made of guacamole and watermelon pulp, anyway? =D

Can't wait either!

What if we gathered all of DZM's posts and compiled them into a book? I think we would have a New York Times best seller!

I don't really care what the spectra cell says. It will all be fine, except for maybe homocysteine, which is easily correctable.

What is the deal with SpectraCell analysis? Is is considered legit by most doctors? Not that I trust doctors a ton, but nor do I trust all alternative methods of diagnosis.

I had the Spectracell testing done earlier this year (blood drawn in January). Overall, I was very good. The 'off' areas were only slightly out.

Here were my deficient areas:
Vitamin B12 and Choline (no big surprise given the lack of animal product consumption)
Vitamin D (It was winter - no sunshine!)
Magnesium and Zinc (These actually surprised me given the quantity of sunflower and pumpkin seeds I eat)

I was also considered only 'average' in my antioxidant function and something called the LPI (lymphocyte proliferation index).

It will be interesting to see how David's results turn out.

Any new news David?

I'm curious espeically about zinc & sodium since you don't eat any foods with significant amounts of either of those.

Cheers. smiling smiley

No....no word yet. I think they said it might take a bit. I feel very strongly both ways...heh...heh. In any event, I'll touch base with Rich some time after I plant some orange trees on Memorial Day. smiling smiley

A pill will fix the B12 problem.

You don't need animals for choline. Some tables are here:
Concentrations of Choline-Containing Compounds and Betaine in Common Foods
Steven H. Zeisel, Mei-Heng Mar, Juliette C. Howe and Joanne M. Holden
The Journal of Nutrition

Take pill

Magnesium should not be a problem. Zinc is trickier. You
could try putting napa cabbage in your smoothies.

Do you mind telling us what your diet was like around
the time of the test? I am suspecting not too many
greens. I could be wrong, though.
