honeydew question

Is the inside part around the seeds supposed to be brownish? And is it ok if the seeds are a little slimy?

I just bought one last night like this and ate some of it this morning..It tasted ok and the outside of the melon wasn't bruised or soft...will I get sick from eating some of it?

I threw the rest away b/c i was worried.

A little brown is fine. A little slimy is fine....if it SMELLS fresh....and does not taste off. When in doubt, toss it and start again. From the way you describe it....it should be fine. No worries. Hard to get ill from fresh fruit.

Yum! I really want some melon.

I love it when they are soft and warm from the sun...with the seeds a bit slimy. They are so juicy and sweet like that!

I hope there is melon at the co-op this weekend! I've been waiting patiently for it, but I might just have to jump up and down crying if they don't have it this week. :-P

Lots of love to you,

Wendi
XOXOXO

Does anyone chow down on melon seeds? I find the slimy stuff is usually the sweetest.

Nah. Half the fun of a melon to me is the texture. Crunchy and slimy thrown in just wouldn't do it for me. Heh..heh.
