Pulp Ejection Juicers

Date: May 13, 2008 08:00PM If I understand correctly, the vitamix, the mother all juicers, is basically a blender from hell. What you put in is what you end up drinking, just completely liquified? Whether it's a carrot or a 2 by 4?
So what am I missing with my pulp ejection juicer? If I put my 3 carrots and 3 apples and 4 stalks of celery in, am I really getting the equivalent of that in my juice, or close enough to it that it doesn't make a difference? -DaveK Re: Pulp Ejection Juicers

Date: May 15, 2008 05:44PM The VitaMix is the mother of blenders. It's not strictly a juicer, but you can use it to pulverize things into a drinkable state (though you should start with a liquid base). With a juicer, you lose the pulp. The pulp contains the majority of the fiber, and some of the nutrition. What you keep becomes more concentrated and easier for your body to absorb. There have been a large number of juicing vs blending debates on this forum, and in the end it comes down to personal preference and circumstance.
