Disappointmet with my Samson juicer...

Date: August 03, 2009 09:34PM I was making nut butter this afternoon with my Samson & I heard a "crack!" Disassembled the chamber only to find that the blank had broken. Replacement blank is $12.75 + shipping. Not the end of the world, but I am a bit miffed that it cracked already after about 5 uses.
We will see how things progress from here. It will go up for sale if these type of problems happen to continue. Just wanted to give an honest update about this juicer. I have been happy with it up until now. It may be a fluke occurrence, I don't know. Guess nothing beats my old standby - Stainless Steel Norwalk 260! Re: Disappointmet with my Samson juicer...

You wouldn't condemn the whole Juicer because of the Blank, would you? You were probably being too efficient in making the Nut Butter. I just looked at the Blank that came with my Omega 8003. It's built like a Tank. I've never used it. Good Luck with your next Blank....WY Re: Disappointmet with my Samson juicer...

the Blank, would you? " I suppose not; It's just that you expect a brand spankin' new item to last longer than 5 times. I will have to look at the omega blank to see if it is a different construction than mine, since the juicers are very similar otherwise. Re: Disappointmet with my Samson juicer...

Don't bother. They are nothing alike, or I would have sent you mine....WY Re: Disappointmet with my Samson juicer...

Date: August 03, 2009 11:52PM lol, thanks for the offer.
Well, I use mine, I like to make nut butters, and I also wanted to use it to make sandwich "filler" or spread using tomato/onion/green pepper/etc. I see that they are very different, so looks like I will be ordering another. I am going to call Samson tomorrow to see if they will warranty the part. Wish me luck! Re: Disappointmet with my Samson juicer...

I wouldn't bother about calling Samson over a $12 part, and just order another one....WY Re: Disappointmet with my Samson juicer...

Date: August 04, 2009 05:34PM Samson replaced the part under warranty - free, I have to pay $6.95 ship, so I saved approx. $10-$12 overall. Nothing wrong with that. The gent did inform me that I am supposed to soak the nuts overnight, which it does not state this in the manual.
Maybe I am supposed to know that, but it didn't occur to me to do that. So, that's where we are; I will soak them from now on, I guess. I see that the "older" style of juicing cone/blank is somewhat similar to the Omega's, but they have changed the shape/design since then. Re: Disappointmet with my Samson juicer...
